Today I changed my 7 gal res tank with pbp cal-mag Lk And hydroplex. I used ro water and was questioning the fact that my ph is at 4.0. I've usually used ph up pro to get it up but wanted to ask the forum if I leave it alone will the buffer get it to 5.8 or higher? I've read that the ph up or down kills your buffer but then again a lot of what I've read at other places has been complete bs and simply thought I would ask the group. Leave it alone or adjust to get to the proper ph?

Your ph was 4.0 before or after the nutes?

I have not used Hydroplex yet so I do not know it's tricks yet.

When I used to check mine the it seems like the ammendments had more impact on the ph than your core nutes. At least little stabilize for a day and check it.

Thanks for the reply b4 bed time Tex. Yes it was 4.0 after the nutes. After 2 hours it got up to 4.4. I'll let it sit overnight and check in the morning. My pots sit in a tray that sits over the res tank therefore letting the roots grow out of the pots and into the res water hence only being able to use 7 gallons(leaves 1 inch between water and bottom of pots) but I change it every thur with ro water. The bitches are getting thick Tex. A little stunted compared to the seeds I used the Last time but learned to let clones veg a little longer and taller next time. Thank You for the info. Will report in the morning.

hello, I am new to this site, old to hydro, new to organic hydro, but am on my second run with PBP product's.

The bloom mix knocks the ph down alot, if it is mixxed and stew's for awhile it does bounce back some, how much I do not know as I never waited to see.

I ran the res about 5 day's on bad vegy nutrient's, poor storage of them, drained, cleaned and refilled with bloom mix and after they recoverd I bloomed them.
I went the entire grow with out changing the res, just topped off with bloom mix and additive's, a twenty gallon res, I went thru 212 gallon's of top off RO water on the grow.

PH upper was used all the time to keep ph level near 6.3 and it was not until the end that the ph level wanted to increase, but then I was not topping off with bloom mix any longer.

What help's stabalize a higher ph level, near 6.0, is additive's, but the proper one's.
silca blast's and hydrogaurd are two product's that help root and plant growth along with stabalization of the ph level.

At lest this is what I have noticed. First run was by the seat of my pant's, second run was more a improvement on the use of the system and better use of the LK additive.

I personally think that vegy stage is good in low 5's and bloom the ph should be low 6's.

grow safe.
