I'm about 5 days into flower and yesterday my timer failed. The lights didn't go off, so they got 16 hours of light instead of 12. I fixed it when I got home and noticed and so far it's working again. Is that extra 4 hours of light going to make my plants hermi?

no, just be sure it doesnt happen again, like maybe invest in a new timer?

buy a contactor and timers should last a lot longer

I've pretty much had everything happen with my timers and lighting cycles over the years. I've never been "fucked" because of it. Things pull through.

I even had someone bring 400 plants to my place once because of landlord problem. Those plants had 3 weeks of flowering left and were on the opposite time cycle meaning they were on at 9pm off at 9am when they left house #1. They went to the opposite cycle, off at 9pm on at 9am.

They finished fine but they did lay dormant for a few days and have some odd growth at first. I never found a single hermie. Keep your eyes open for it but it's not automatic.

thanks guys.. i am going to get a new timer

For your light i'd recommend going with a digital timer that has battery backup power supply:

narr they should be fine....also when placing the timer around your grow room make sure its not in a spot where you can step on it or bump it to change the settings....i found that out the hard way after tossing the old timers for there ongoing probs...i plan on putting some sort of clear sheild over that timer control pannel so accidents dont happen.HH. =]

How much are those timers PhenoM?

I've had pretty spotty luck with the intermattic
mechanichal timers. Too much inductive load or
something from an HPS ballast...
