well i want to flower a batch of 20 mazar clones but dont want to hog all my space (about 7' x 7') as i want to concentrate on my blueberry plants. so i figured id sog these.
i was hoping i could get some links to some good sea of green threads as my search just gets a bunch of posts with it mentioned.
i need to know the optimal:
pot size (was leaning toward 2 gal grow bags)
plant height/age for flowering
spacing
pruning, do i prune em or just pack em in?
just read a reference on a recent thread to BOAS/SOG, any info on that would be appreciated.
they are currently in their 1st week of veg after being transplanted into 1/2g grow bags. heard i could flower straight from clone but not sure what id end up with.

I've never grown mazar, so take this info with a grain of salt...
For my SOGs, I use 6x6x6 or 1 gallon pots with straight coco - 36 per 1k with a 4x4 footprint. Veg them until they start to take off (usually around 6-10") and then flip them to 12/12. Remove any branching when you put them under 12/12 and then after the stretch is over, go back and remove any new branches that stretched away from the main stalk.
If you wanna use 2 gallon bags, I'd suggest 2 weeks veg and 16-25 per light...

thanks sandman.
as far as the pruning am i pruning all the side branches all the way back to the main stalk? leaving only the one top?
the big book of buds states mazar is a good cannidate for SOG, about 3' tall, christmas tree shapes. kept the mother veggin for 8 months and she is over 5' for sure and budding nicely now in another area.
For my SOGs,
so do you prefer SOG over say 3gal pots and whatever space they need, not trying to be fickle on the sog just dont want to be disappointed.

Yep...remove the branches right next to the main stalk. I like to leave the leaves under those branches intact...seems to help them deal with the stress better.
I've always preferred SOGs for some reason...dunno, it just works for me and the strains I have I guess. It's nice being able to trim an ounce of bud in 2 minutes as well without having to mess with any popcorn nugs.

Hey sand man what strain you useing and what average yeild per plant. Im on a 4x8 using RW instead of pots. i can fit at least 40 to 50 on a 4x4 squre so double that you got my table. Everyone i see doing this in a ebb and flo always lets them veg and uses 2-3gal pot instead of one like you.
Just wondering what you thought the benefits of useing pots over RW. Do you see a noticeable difference?

MTF, AG13, Shiva & Shark Shock...average yields vary per strain, but range from .25-.50 for the MTF, .40-.75 on the AG13 & SS, .60-1.25 on the shiva.
I've always used pots with coco...just what I grew up on pretty much. There's no single "better" way to do it tho - just stick with what you know and dial it in. I would like to try an aero SOG in the future tho...I like the idea of very little to dispose of - which is one of the reasons I chose coco. I usually get at least 6 runs out of coco before I use it to fill the low spots in the yard.
