What do i need to know when it comes to growing sativas indoors?
basically what should i be asking myself when it comes to growroom design?
what would the ideal setup be for growing and breeding sativas indoors?
I know i'll need adequate space for for large plants & the ability to adjust my lighting for plant height.....but what else?

i grew one in my closet ammong my NL's, I didnt know it was a sativa at first because it was from bag seed. The challenge for me was determining when to harvest. I waited 10 weeks and now am thinking I should have waited longer..

my plant ended up at 4 feet.. thats after the stretch. My other northern lights were at least a foot shorter. The main cola alone was 12 inches.

Like i said I didnt know it was a sativa when i started. since i didnt know the strain I didnt know how long to flower for. I flowered for 10 weeks compared to my others which finished around 8. I find it hard to find any tips for when exactly to harvest a sativa. I read some will have cloudy trichs, then start growing again. It is a challenge growing with indicas because of the light height. The sativa was about a foot taller then the others. growing characteristics were different also. very branchy and sparse. Fan leaves start yellowing and falling off leaving the buds.

Thanks.. it was from bagseed from weed purhased over 3 years ago which was exceptional. I salvaged 40 seeds... one sprouted.. it was deformed. I grew it out and it turned out female... pretty cool. I have several clones so i can experiment with it in the future.

All you need is patience and room, I love Sativas, but I usually grow a shitload in the summer outdoors to get me thru winter. To much indica and I sleep for years!

Its perfect possible to grow sats indoors, just prune em or tie em down and don;t let them get too tall before going into 12/12, in the first month of a sativa's flowerign they stretch a lot and that is a good time to bend them by adjusting your ties, they need space as you;re spreading their growth over a wide area rather than letting it go verticallyy. Here's some of my recent ones, all under 3 foot:

I managed to train a Malawi Gold from here:

This time I decided to abandon the training and just pinch out as much as possible - 42 inches and just about stopped growing:

If you are growing for your own stash and to entertain friends, you can even do it in a cabinet. I've been growing true Pure Jamaican Staivas that way for many years with great results. No LST, No SCROG, and No SOG. Just carefull planning, timing, and trimming. Check out the link in my signature for complete details on my set-up.

Sativa's are a blast and a real challenge. Hardest part I found about them is the wait - unless ya got some buds to keep ya tied over these babies wont be ready for harvest for months. Like most are saying, stick with LST, cropping, etc... try to get most of the trimming done in the first few weeks of flowering, otherwise ya might keep shocking her and send her to hermi land!
