30x loupe question

I bought a 30x loupe and was looking at my plants and based on pictures I see on here and other places I don't understand how you guys tell a thing with these. It doesn't give me a very big picture Or the zoom in isn't enough for me to really tell things like I expected it to be. I use a 60x hand held micro scope and it shows a great picture for me. Maybe I am not using the loupe the right way. Anyone got any loupe tips?

A google search produces all kinds of articles on using a loupe correctly, but after reading a few of them myself, they didn't really say anything you couldn't figure out on your own :confused:

I bought a 30x loupe thinking it would save me time rather then clipping leaves and bringing them to another room to view under my RS microscope.
It enables me to get a general view of trich condition but I still wouldnt rely soley on that to determine harvest time. I am looking at the trichs in my closet, under lights so not sure if trich condition is accurate under those conditions. I use it daily but still use the RS scope for my final decision.

Works great, get right up on the trichs.

You can scopes like that off e-bay for a few euro's.
Search for microscopes.

i know there on ...but the ones i found all had some defect ...i mean some of them where with foot under that woz not invisible....and some of them where not luminated or only30X and the 1 i did found that woz like i wanted ....it woz 32$ without shipping....

I am in the U.K so maybe e-bay is a little different in Belgium, but I picked one up for £4.99 + £3.50 P&P....not sure what that equates to in euro's.
It was iluminated and magnified from 60x to 100x, it did have the little feet things on, but they just clip on/off.
Have a good search maybe even look at e-bay u.k as most traders on there will ship anywhere. :joint:

I have one of those Radioshack scopes and 10x loupe. I use the 10x loupe more because I can see the trichs on the plant. With The higher magnification (60-100x) of the RS scope you need to take small leaf pieces off to examine on a stable table.

A 30x loupe should work fine as long as you can get a stable focus.
