I set up a few bigger lights last week at my place and when I checked on them today theres like 10 lady bugs or those asian beatles in there. I know lady bugs would actually help but not sure if they are asian beatles that look just like lady bugs. I dont know whether I should start swatting or leave them be. They must of unthawed somewhere in the basement when the lights warmed it up.

Im in the US and I know alot of places here get swarms of those asian dealios. Is there a certain way to tell the 2 apart or should i just gather them up and throw them outside? Maybe the asian beatle is good too I dont know.

Leave them be; encourage them to help themselves to your grow! There are several varieties of these little buggers, all are voracious eaters of anything that they can catch, this is a good thing! :jump:

I've had 'em for years, & never had any mite or pest problem. they will eat flies, thrips, spiders gnats, they'll eat you if you stand still!

Mine are a mix of several varieties, are aggressive, and love to spend their day crawling all over the leaves just searching for trouble . . .think of them as little orange helmeted soldiers, lol

hey thanks for the help. some of them lady bugs got a little too close to the light and couldnt take the heat but for the most part they love crawling on the plants where the heat is. I read too if you leave a little piece of banana in there that keeps them well fed and keep them from going back into hibernating mode. Again thanks for the help!

I'll have to try the banana!
