We've read all about the intricate ways of growing....formulas, schedules, lighting, pots, tubs, buckets, tubes, pumps, fans, etc. I've seen monster filters that would make a heating and air conditioning pro blush. I've seen SWC, DWC, teas, secret methods, hydro, aero, soil, coco, LST, scrogg, bubblers, etc. Strains, what sucks, what doesn't, first grows, last grows, odor, ventilation, how you got busted, where to buy, how to buy, hermies, fem seeds...good Lard, the list is endless. Is growing indoors and getting a decent yield really all this complicated?

:fsu:

I've changed my mind so many times, I'm not sure if I'm coming or going. :pointlaug

Now, let's read about some simple methods of indoor growing. Maybe we can cut to the chase for those of us without bottomless pockets. The seed prices alone are outrageous.

What say?

(PS - Don't get me wrong. All this info here at icmag is priceless. However, let's now see what some successful simple methods are having already gone the intricate route.)

best thing to do is figure out how ya want to grow size of erea to be used lighting method/style of growing roll the dice and give it a shot.
if you grow in soil ferts shouldnt really be needed for 2-3 wks after each new transplant, fresh soil has enough nutes for 2-3 wks n/p. like above said plants will tell ya when time to fert lower leaves start to yellow {unless late in flowering, they yellow then naturally} waters PH should be between 6.2-6.5 whole grow for soil.

honestly i truely believe that most new growers should start off using bag seed sensimelia can still be achieved, you get your learning curve done most get thier setups dialed in during this time.

all i can say is when i got here and read all the great threads and learned all kinds of good things. And was trying everything and mixing this and that.. I can say i murder, death, killed so many plants it was not funny.. and mind you i grew for personal stash like football season.. Anyhow then one day i said fugg it im not going to worry about all this ph levels up down, ec this ec that, runoff ph ec, just to much shit for my brain. So guess what plants started to stay alive for me.. lmao.. I will say that the heat and air quality i took serious.. And man great tasting weed and high was killer. I used that method for OD soil and even DWC.. everything was fine.. And to me thats simple.. peace.

the 150hps club, the mills pride club, the c-15 club ... all these threads are small closet/cabinet type grows which, for the most part, keep it pretty simple.

A bucket of decent off the rack pre-mixed enriched soil (or DWC Bubble bucket), a fluorescent light or two or three and a scrog net can be scrounged up for a relatively cheap little system.

The seed prices alone are outrageous.
Seed Boutique's Nirvana line at 15 bucks a ten pack is a best buy with an extensive selection of genetics with many a repeat customer from what I keep hearing around here. :)

Fish emulsion makes an excellent and affordable and readily available vegetative stage fertilizer in soil.

The following (linked) plans are a variation of the tried and true homemade "Bato Buckets" or "Dutch Pots".
