It's hard to say, as there's lots more variables in that equation than just lights, but for a rough estimate but I'd say 6-8 more should get you in 5-10oz range, and then only on your third grow with them should you expect to be getting a good yeild with them.
That's only a guesstimate ^, if you want to grow big it's easier to go big(HPS), most people use cfls for small personal/hobby grows, but they can certainly be used if used properly.
Good luck

How much space are you growing in? With fluoro lighting, I get about an oz/sq ft using about 70 watts per sq ft

its a walk in closet. id say 8x8 i was thinking after i save up enough money a month into this grow or sooner i will get a 400hps and still keep the flouros. u guys think that will rack me up in the multiple oz range.?

to get 5-10 zones, you would need about 400-600w of cfls, it would be a lot cheaper and more effective to just get the hps now.

cfls produce a LOT of heat. Just get a 150w HPS theres a good thread for 150w grows on the forum

It'd be much better to buy a little hps instead of lots of little cfls. The when you buy your 400 watter you can use your old sodium as some decent extra lighting.
I'd never dream of using cfls to flower personally after seeing the results that hps lights yield. Cfls are perfect for early veg however, but once the plants are established and start to take off I put them straight under my sodium and they love it.

You could go for a 150 hps, got mine from Lowes for $79. Then since you have room, you could add another 150 later if you wanted.
My advice to you would be stay a little smaller than 400 since you have a shakey situation there with your wife. If you get busted, at least dont get busted big.

you shouldn't start seedlings in pots that large....

i figured that would be less stress on the babies. if i see any problems ill start more seeds up in smaller pots no big deal.

you maximize the use of your container if you increase size incremently...

fancy!
and can you elaborate on that, hybridtek?
i guess when i grow in the ground i should rather start my seedlings in small pots lol :(

in the ground it doesn't matter as much, but you would be suprised...if you plant a clone straight into a 5 gallon it's roots will get eventually get rootbound. This would also happen if you started in a quart, then 1 gallon, then 3, and the to 5. The difference would be the amount of roots would be much greater since in each container it maximized it's growth and as you increased the container size the roots followed.
About planting in dirt I saw a farmer do that method claiming the plant absorbed nutrients more efficiently....but I just plant a clone in the dirt no prob

i grew with 350watts of cfls with 2 plants and yielded a little over 2 ozs.
you would need ALOT more of cfls to get anywhere near 5oz.
heres my setup

the plants have to be lst/scrogged so that the lights will be close enough to be effective.
the two grows i did in that tub were both last year in an apt. it was nice for the room i had but it cost just as much to buy all those cfls as it would to just buy a light.
now that i have had experience w/ growing more i have a 400watt. i would just go for one of thise off ebay. super cheap.
hope this helps
