HI all
New guy here..
I Was just wondering if anybody has started seedlings in Ready gro..
I have been making areo mothers from clones from a friend for years..
And have recently decided to be self relient and start some seeds..
I went out and got some PBP and other botanicare products and some ready-gro for my medium for the new moms.. It was after I got home and started filling pots and watering it in that I realized it was really soupy.
I did get the moisture line not the areation mix.. It says one watering Daily for hydro organics....huh?? This seems it will dry out way to quick for seedling propigation..there in 4in, pots with saucers under them... I started them 2 days ago and mist the top of the dirt every day humidity 65% I also put some water in the saucers... is this what I need 2 be doing to get seeds to pop in this airy coir based stuff.. I knew I should of used rapid rooter plugs first..
81*
65% Humidity
150w HPS in pl hood with deep reflector a/c at 36in. above pots..
10 Wonderberry----Sag.
06 Hollands hope---White Label..
03 Acorn Aka Snowbud---THseeds
17 Skunk #1 --- Thanks gypsy
All beans were soaked in r.o. water for 24 hrs.
All Cracked and were showing tails..
Except for maybe 6 sk#1's
Any Suggestions would be greatly appreaciated...... Peace :joint:

Tech,
I to am a Ready gro convert and have had good results going directly to the pot but much better results getting tails and then placing in Rapid Rooters root well and then go to the pots. Biotanicare products make growing easy in the sense they are very forgiving in their usage. Your leaves will tell ya what they want but I assure you you have made a great decision in products. Good Luck and let me know if I can be of any help.

Mr. Wags love your threads you and bob are one of my reasons for finally signin on to I.C. Mag.
When you have went straight to the pots w/ ready - gro. How did you keep it moist enough for the seeds??? I seems like it was designed to dry out for drip or ebb and flow????
I have standing water in the saucers under the pots.. is this keeping it water logged.
I am worried about rot, But I dont want it to dry out like it seems to want to...
temps.81
r.h. 65%
So do I leave standing water in saucers?/?
or just mist top of soil daily, 2x a day??
I have also read a qrow tip on the female seeds sight that said cover pot in saran wrap till it sprouts.....??????????
Im concerned as this was all the seeds I have on hand.... Lookin into some ecsdV3 crosses from Heads Seeds...on seedbay..

Well I am officially Worried after 9 days only 6.5 Above ground
4 Hollands hope
2 Acorn
.5 Wonderberry (I say .5 because I had to flip it over because the root broke the surface and the little leaves were under the Ready-Gro.
And of course the Wonderberry was the one I really wanted And Paid $200 For.
I should have Used the rapid rooter for the seedling germ.. And only should have
soaked 6 W.B's and saved a few... I now have no seed.. :badday: :badday:
I Mist the tops of the soil 2x a Day and the R.H. is 65% Temp 82*
I just water with 15 ml. water daily..
All of them, Popped ones elevated..

Half a Wonderberry if you can even see it.

Hopefully my Next project will go A little better.
I just retro fitted my Aero 6 Machine By American Agritech into a (Clone) Pun intended* of there Clone Machine 42 Minus a few holes..
I also replaced the misters with the ez-clone nozzels Like Mr. Wags..
I Wanted to go with the Green Fuse like Wags and T.K. but my store didnt have it so I went with the Power Clone... Half strength..
Any Aero Clone tips would be greatly Appreciated Also..
Should I use my olivias Cloning Gel on these cuts along with the Power clone iin the res Won't it just drip off and make my solution hotter??
Temp 79*
R.H. should hold with the addition of a tall 10x20 tray humidity dome.

I do not use any rooting agent other than what I put in the rez. I will add a little Hydroguard a week in just to keep the super white root mass kickin and healthy.
I bought some BC Bloom(i think, I will have to look at home) rooting solution and come to find out Green Fuse in an offshoot from them just a private label and it's cheaper.
I quit using ready grow in my E&F table because I could not regulate the water saturation level and would over water. It's hard to dry the shit out between floods. You can flood like once a day and no more.

<Bummed, Well I am off to a miserable start here at ICmag. I Really wanted to start my First thread here with BANG, I planted all the beans I had. Thought I would share my adventure with some new genetics with everyone.
And what do I have, 4 Seedlings out of 36 Planted...
3 Hollands Hope.
1 Acorn.
After a Couple of weeks and nothing from the other pots. I decided to dig up one of the skunks And I found it twice as deep as I planted it in very soggy Ready-Gro.
I think the Ready-Gro was just to light so every time I would wet the top of soil to keep it moist it made the seeds settle a little deeper than Wanted.
Also There was great variation from top to bottom of the pot as far a saturation of the dirt goes.. bottom was very wet...
Yes I did the unthinkable and dug the remaining seeds up and replanted them in rapid rooters on a heat mat....
I know It was not the best Idea to disturb them But the ones I did find in the pots were just like they were when I put em in there . no bigger tails no mold or film.
Fingers Crossed Hope its not to late for the right conditions...
I will ALWAYS USE RAPID ROOTERS TO GERMINATED SEEDS..
I will never go straight to the medium again....
Here are the survivors so far..

I had been using 3in. net pots in corragated plastic lids on the Ebb and Flows, But I want to be seein results like you guys. So I got the the Botanicare line , Aerocloner and Im off.
Well I Hope these 4 pull through, But wouldnt you know it the 3 out of 4 are an outdoor strain I popped Just to get ready for spring..I want wonderberry for indoor Damn it........

well live and learn......everyone makes mistakes so don't be so hard on yourself.....yeah i was gonna suggest putting saran-wrap over those seedling pots to create a kind of humidity-dome but i guess they're in rapid rooters now....
am i the only one who managed to get poor germination with those rapid rooters....everyone else raves about them....anyway hope yer luck turns around....yer pal GP

Tex thanks for the kind words brother. I got the fingas crossed.
GP I thought about the saran 2 after I saw it on the femaleseeds site.
But I went with the method on an old thread called seedling and young plant info.
I won,t be doing thar again.. Sorry to here about yer luck with the rooters. I have only read good things here on them for germination. And always used them for clones in trays. That is before I went to Aero Clones.
Peace and thanx for the good vibes Guys.. cALyX-------oUt

Hey man sorry to hear about the germination...
Those seedlings are way too stretched my friend. You need to lower the light a lot, it's only 150w you said? With a glass lense? Is A/C air-cooled? If it's air cooled you can have a 150 within a foot of that setup probably. I think the lack of lighting on the seedlings has cause the lack of sprouts, and the stretched remaining seedlings...

hey can anyone tell me the difference between ready gro and rapid rooter?
rapid rooters are for sprouting beans:

hey thanks mr.wags I meant ready gro plugs, can you tell me the difference between that and rr?

Here is what I found so far for ya:
Ready-Gro plug
by International Horticulture
• Retains just the right amount of water Virtually eliminates loss in transplanting
• Provides a number of biological benefits
• Plug design and aeration of medium promote root density and directions
• Biodegradable
The Ready-Gro plug is made of naturally composted materials, it contains natural beneficial fungi and can be inoculated with other biological controls.
It is an optimally aerated medium that naturally maintains the proper air/water ratio to promote healthy growth which will help prevent common water molds and diseases.
They are a bit bigger and a little mor expensive but I have never used them. The rooters are not broke for me so I never tried to fix it haha.
