Good Day to our old as well as new members here at ICM. I've noticed a lot of new members to our humble little home and by the looks at it we have gained some serious growers for sure. I must say BOG's full time attention here will be sadly missed I only hope he does check in from time to time but hey Business is Business if that is what ya come here for.
GOOD LUCK BOG
Well as you can see the GIRLS have started puberty and the only BALLS in the room so far are MINE. :woohoo: Thanks Mom :pointlaug
Hope everyone has a great week and will be seeing ya soon.

Blueprint you will be VERY VERY happy you asked this question. The first time I tokk EVERY last freakin ball and scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed only to find out from one of our ICM Master Growers that all ya gotta do is get out the bulk of the roots and whats left will be turned into sugar's to help feed the next round of girls. So my friend I just saved ya about 12 hours of your life SO use it wisely.
And Sunny my friend the Three are Apollo,Sour Diesel and Bubblegum
I was gonna clone these but my dearest friend that gifted them to me said run them bitches I got more so we gonna run them under the big light maybe as early as today. I gotta get Bob done he's got plans. :bat:

Well finally I can put the Kleenex away. I thought we had so much fun at the Prom. :pointlaug T Just let me say this
NO THANK YOU MY DEAR
Had it not been for those shots of your Redwoods last year I might not have ever made the jump to buckets. Water Leaks bah My room is completely sealed top to bottom the water would simply pool around the buckets and force me to get out the Shop Vac, now there T will be the next gift. Man's gift to grow room cleanup THE SHOP VAC. One of the best things I've ever bought.
But seriously I just wanted to make sure you read my pm regarding the packing paper b4 well you know. They wanted a fortune for that stuff and I said to myself This stuff is free and maybe we could do a community service because I bet atleast one or two of them is up around your neck of the woods somewhere. :pointlaug
Do you think I over vegged this time T? First time with this Ice stuff but what do ya think 24 buckets this spring is going to look like?
Sorry for the rib shot sweetie. :bat: No I'm Not :sasmokin: It's funny as hell

Why yes sir I can. I was taught that at night with the lights out our girls send the sugars down to the roots away from the part we want. In doing a 2 week ph water flush and a 48 hour light's out before the cut helps with giving me VERY clean smoke to start to cure in the jars after the hang. All I can say is it works for me.

Thanks so much for prompt reply. Yes that makes perfect sense to me too. My system depicts I wont be practising this (Aqua, fish want light, flush involves starving the fish) but it is nice info for some bio-buddies I have.

Alright I decided to join in on the masters thread, you are truly amazing mrwags, I just sometimes can't believe your grows. I think you have convinced me with that great description that lights out before you cut is worth it, I'll give it a try. Although you still haven't convinced me on the flushing.

Ok the flush part. During the final 2 weeks I ONLY use water, good ole mother earth and change my water every 5 days until the 14 are complete. Each and every time I change the water I can see the ppm go down on my tri meter and by the time the 14 days are complete my ppm is as close as I can get to my standard point of my water thus gettin ALL of the food from the girls therefore the only thing rushing through her veins is water. I will admit using PBP does help but doing this and the cut (in the dark) after 48 hours dark insure's me of nute clean, starch and sugar free Bud's Of Love to dry and cure. I can see the girls swell and you will to when they try to survive on just water and yes dear sweet Jenna the ambers do change right before your eye's letting you know when THEY are ready. Women, can't live without them but never ever rush them. My 2 Cents.
But Jenna (you dear sweet thing) and tokin and Bonz your words are to kind and please understand I will always be the student, for all I know came from here and for that I once again Thank You All. :friends:

ok so looking at your buckets you have a bucket in a bucket instead of a net pot in a bucket ... is this because of the choice to grow trees ? Im setting up basicly the same thing but im using 3.5 gallon buckets with large netpots ... i think ... can you tell me what the diff is between using a second bucket or a netpot or is it just to grow large trees? My area is only 6 ft tall so i figured the large netpot would be large enough to hold a nice bush not a tree . Can you give me your thoughts on this mrwags :)
thanks buddy

well a few of the advantages babbabud to the bucket inside a bucket is that your hydroton won't get stuck in the drain plug, which I made the mistake of doing. But also the bucket in the bucket will allow you to move around your plants in your room, so you can get even growth with all your plants or for maintenance on the system. I talked to various different experienced growers on here about this a few weeks ago when I was building mine, and no one really knew the reason for it. So it'll be interesting to see what mrwags thinks. BTW I now am using the bucket inside a bucket method which I think was the better choice now that its up and running.

interesting ... i will be glad to hear what mrwags has to say. I have the net pots but havent put together my system yet... controller showed up today. If the buckets are the best way to go then thats what i have in mind but my room isnt very tall so will have to grow bushes not trees so i wasnt sure if it was just to hold up the bigger plants or what .

Babba your pots will be fine and will add a sense of support as they grow,I would however modify the net pot a little by way of cutting every other slit of the net pot itself giving more room for the roots to spread. Trust me the roots be a plenty quickly in what you are about to do,I have had WW 6 foot high before with not a single root bound problem, I have considered using the pots but already having the buckets (store bought setup) I thought lets try it this way a few times and see. But look at Big Toke's bio buckets and you will see that pots work in buckets for sure.
I have found a very simple way to grow faster than anything I have ever tried, buckets are the real deal and with the Babba love in and around the pots It's All Good.

few fact's :D
the reason tokinsmokin had cloged drains is becuz of 2 stoners lacking typing skill's ...... 2 being me n him.............
he asked if u need a bucket in a bucket ( just like u babba ) i said no but u need sumthing not going into much detail tokin then put hydroton in the buckets with out bucket or big netcup / lid with lil net cup ect....= cloged drain
I would however modify the net pot a little by way of cutting every other slit of the net pot itself giving more room for the roots to spread. Trust me the roots be a plenty quickly in what you are about to do
dont modify them babba ( sry wags :P )
if u do hydroton will fall in to your bucket thus leading to cloged drain
good thing we are doing 3/4" not 1/2" :moon:
how ever if there is covered netting on the net cups where it was not molded corrtectly ( damn injecttion molding ) u can cut them out most the time is on the side and half the bottem this can be time consuming i do just the bottems not the sides
the netcup ( pot lids incerts ) what eva u want to call them will be best in your room babba for 2 reasons.
1. your room size ( 6 foot ) the 2" u gain by using net cup as to buckets will be very well loved :yoinks: i would not have u buy netcups if bucket where needed brother :D
2. your going to be veging so little that u will neva need the root space of that extra 2" ask wag's he veg twice what your going to & still dont fill the bucket ( ask that jew hilly to )

he said BIGBALLS
lmao
yeah i use the bigger ones to wag's and they still some how make it past from time to time ( for sume reason big bags of droton are a mix of size's )
& i know what bag's he's getting :D same ones i do and they will fall out of netting if cut in any size bigger then premade
now if i can just find a way to export/import 200 gallons of babba's tap water every week ........
note : pic's above where in 50 /50 mix of perlite/hydroton big mistake dont do this it holds to much water but what can i say im a test freak :badday:

HMMMMM What a great thread I'll try to keep my questions clear and succint so as not to clog up the information with extraneous crap.
1) So this system is a store bought "ebb and grow" system? (All the store bought systems that I've seen use 3.5 gallon buckets or smaller--yours is 5 gallon though, correct?)
2) What makes the system an ebb and flow system and not a direct water culture system? Do the buckets drain completely before they are flooded again? How does the "controller" bucket control the water level in the other buckets? And do these store-bought systems work better than bigtoke's "bio" buckets?
I'm building a large (10kW) room and I'm looking for the best hydro system to use and I think that dwc/buckets are the way to go but I haven't decided what version of buckets will be the most foolproof for a relative hydroponic newbie like myself. I like the "krusty" or "freedom" buckets alot but they seem to require some tweaking to get right. What's your guys' opinion on this?
You all fucking rock. Keep the love flowing and the herb growing.

No my buckets are 2 1/2 gallon one inside the other.

How does the "controller" bucket control the water level in the other buckets? And do these store-bought systems work better than bigtoke's "bio" buckets?
Yes the buckets drain and fill with each flood since they are inside each other. the controller has 3 switches inside the controller buckets to control the water level. Big Toke's Bio buckets are a work of art,you cannot put a price on them, but for me having little or no time to do it the way I want I store bought mine, check your pm's for a link.

I love questions! I use the large rock balls in my bucket inside a bucket setup, but I pre veg in Biotanicare's ReadyGrow soil to get that nice root ball and then move to the buckets. I have use the Silicia Stone product that you asked about but for me the ReadyGrow works muck better now Bio-Toke I think has used the lava rocks in his Bio system but I have not,I just think that the hydro takes the soul out of the weed and anything I can do to give it back is why I veg in soil. Now while we are on the subject, I currently have a full BOB of clones in soil,so when they are both complete I can compare the smell and taste and high from a controlled test since the cuts are from the Ice that is in the buckets right now. Time will tell the tale.

Ah shucks 2buds titles are for the working class the only thing that changes is for me is now I got a handy dandy sweeper button. :pointlaug But I must say the post I've read lately show the new recruits are learning what this place is about and feel soon all will be well.
So enough dribble we are at 61 days and as you can see the girls have not told me they are ready yet, Under scope the hairs are starting to change and feel the end is near but time will tell. I have changed the rez 3 times in the past 14 days and the ppm is holding steady so all they got in them now is good ole water.
Hope ya like what ya see and wish all a great day.

Very Nice accomplishment mrwags. Definatly an inspiration to keep doing better.
If I may, I read early on that you used light movers. Do you see a definate advantage for the plants benefit? Do you think it is better than just adding another light? Are there any specific concerns about the venting that you may have experienced? If this has already been addressed my apologies but I didn't read the entire thread.
Thank You

Hmm yes! Good question NAACP, what was the total weight? Just from your posts alone, I am so glad I purchased FS ice a few days ago. Mr. Wags, much thanks for taking the time to post your results with the female seed strains. Not much has been documented about them. I'm definately looking forward to putting these ladies in my buckets.

Yeah T the box is well how do they say THE SHIT. I took a small bud put it my grinder dumped it on the screen and after a few minutes of work I had a very nice pile of Kiefe that went well over the top of the bud before the roll. To think I won it for simply sharing the love Thanks Gypsy & Dutch.

Sunny I got ya a jar my friend, the Ice smoke wise is the best of any of the Female Seeds strains I have tested so far. It is a real head high that last 3-4 hours before you realize you just got high. It might not yield as much as the WWxBB but the high is better. A good jarring I feel would make it a one hit high bud,but since it's all gone maybe next time. :badday: it has a nice SWEET taste that lingers in your mouth long after your done very sweet infact but the high ranks right up there with some of the best I've ever toked in my life, since I can't remember the last time I saw you. :pointlaug
In the process of setting up the new room got Bob full of popped beans

Hello Mr.Wags, Awsome grow, real eye catcher. I didnt really go into the organic hydro forums until a link directed me to one of your harvest pages. Now Im very curious lol. I still dont quite exactly know what organic hydro is except for a mix in mediums and nutes used for both hydro and organic grows, correct? It looks like your plants start off in soil, and then are moved to the hydro systems, just wondering how this is done if its the case? Amazing plants, you are an inspiration to us all, thank you. Peace.

Its good to see the garden progressing, looks like you got some sweet lovin mixed in your dreams lately. Looks like new lineage added to the mix.

2buds that my friend is a 125 watt floro. I got my eye on one of those Satelites to put in Bob. I think being able to raise and lower the light in Bob will make a HUGE diffrence. The 400 that he has now is stationary and the heat is a bitch even when I cool tube it. Congrats on the new Equipment 2buds share the love with the group when you feel comfortable.

I'm going to agree with VT. Those are some very heathly plants. I noticed in picture number one. That there is a very slight tip burn. That is a good sign and that the tip burn hasn't gone passed the tips. Show's the plants are very happy with what your doing. The color is just awesome and even. Your plants are doing very well. Looks like you got them dialed in pretty good. I hope you enjoy that gift when you get to harvest her. Awesome grow as always Wags.
By the way, should be updating my Bucket thread this weekend. Stay tuned.

bartender,2buds,Bonzo,Weedtime ,GDW and -VT- Thank You for the kibd words, but as I said I'm only a student, you guys that create these beans are the ones that deserve the credit. It's like the time when I was younger and was installing Fiber Optic cable in this car plant,I got lucky when all the cable was ran and the system linked up immediately and the guy looked at me and said "you are a genius" I looked at him and said Thank You but how hard is it to connect one box to the other, even tho the other box is a 1/4 of a mile away the guys that created the code to run the system in the first palce are the ones that deserve the credit.
Once again YOU BREEDERS are the true geniuses. I only thrown down some beans and do what I learned here and you get what ya see. Now once I get a few things straight and get some more room I truely feel that is something I would like to give a try.
So now with the love being shared once again I bring you shots from the back of the room:

Hi Mr Wags. I crossed some big bud over an old bush Sativa here and hope you could tell me - how long a flower period on the BB. It's been 18 months or so I've forgot. I have two girls of the crosses one lanky like the sativa the other short, fat, and at 8 inches of height, smelly when handled. I figure the big bud photo period to be the shortest so thought I'd start investigating with a loupe from then on...
I've also had some fantastic results using skim milk on mildew due to a hot tip from Shipperke. Link and details in my thread.
Fantastic plants Mr Wags, I'm thinking the nute differntial demanded by all your plants would actually be advantageous in Aqua, but the timing, pre planning, forecasting of heights and density - you truly are an excellent grower - Doff 'o' th' hat to ye Sir!

My last BB run went 72 days and the trics were 90% cloudy they do not stretch like a lot of others I've grown but damn they sure are pretty. the mildew issue I handle with diluted Liquid Karma,it makes a fantastic foiler feed as well as keeping the girls all cleaned up. The nute diffrential I must admit is plain ole luck. Now I will admit I went a little low on the ppm this time but I've never run this many diffrent strains at one time the height issues were handled with good rotation and snapping a neck or 2,these power plants and c99 are some stretchy girls but have moved them to the back of the room for the finish flower.
THSeek thank you for finally stopping by. Your thread has sparked my attention regarding the use of aquaponics your thread will I'm sure help out a lot of people and in my opinion that is what they are for.

Thanks Mr Wags. I seem to have discovered most problems the hard way and so have much to offer through experience. And of course - PASSION.
I'm spending literally thousands on my next grow room, but it's 4 metres by 4 metres with 2.8 metres height at top end. And plumbed to an entire pond. Next, I mean now, I can see the post holes and timber pile, the retaining wall's in... :).
It is interesting as I study psychoactives and backyard drug culture I hear key men from many fields say words to this effect - "If only _ _ _ _ _ _ Enthusiasts showed the same iniative and collective spirit as the MJ community....." We Rock!
I'm a big bio fan. If I could send Bigtoke a Xmas card with a bud every year I would. But I'm also hooked on keeping it green. I think you deserve a place on my hypothetical Xmas list too. Good growing, excellent community spirit.
When we lost OG I became more determined to show folk aqua MJ. I took days just to repost the basics I'd already posted. Was it worth it? Every second.

Yes THSEEK you will find by and large the IC community is an older crowd with very open minds. When the influx happened a lot of them scattered and now I see them coming back one by one simply because there are FEW places like this on the net. Don't get me wrong there are a few,but to be able to share a dream and get love in return is the way I like to spend my day everyday. You just gotta love the passion. Thank You for sharing THSEEK I know your time is very much appreciated.

Mr Wags! Your garden is simply mouth watering! Final product will be insane! I told ya I wanted to try some new nutes, well I did! I changed things up a little for me! I jetted to the hydro store last week and picked up some PBP, hydroplex and cal-mag! I already had some silica and B52 to go with it! Seems like they really love it! I have some Wondergod (williams womder X godbud) that I made, G33XECSDV3 (H3ad), Blue Kronic (Motarebel), and a couple of Wonderfuck. Thanks for the advice! I like GH, but I felt like PBP may be slighly better and organic based may inprove taste slightly! 1 question for ya! I notice when I mixed my silica that it didn't mix well! Is this common? Keep her going my man! Here are a couple of pics at 17 days flower! Keep in touch!

dc105 congrats man. All I can say is it works for me lol. I think you will see a major diffrence in the final product as far as taste and yield. I posted on your thread before I read your post (duh) but I have tried the Top Max as well as the Hydroplex and will take the Hydroplex hands down. Now the one thing I did not see listed was the Hydroguard. I have never done a run without it so keep me posted and maybe next run I can save a few bucks.

hey dc105 and wagser...top max and hydroplex are two totally different products. Hydroplex would be considered a pk boost. Similiar to PK 13-14, kool-bloom, monster bloom, etc. Top max is a flower addative. It has no major nutrition to it as far as phosphorus and potassium. It does however contain humic acid and seaweed. You can use these products together just fine ;)
Wags I know you use Lk...so I thought I would warn ya. Both Liquid Karma and Top Max have alot of humic acid in them. So you should never use TM an LK together...WAY to much humic acid...so if I had to pick between TM and LK, I would choose LK every day of the week.
mrwags
06-20-2006, 07:45 AM
kokua no probs my friend It was my understanding the question concerned which bloom boosters to you prefer Top-Max or Hydroplex. Are they not both labeled to be flower boosters? LK is my friend as is the unsticky button and your observation is accredited and very much appreciated. TY

lol...I get it. But I still say we are comparing apples to oranges when you talk about Top Max vs. Hydroplex. They are both to be used during the flower stage, but they act quite different and are two totally different types of products. Top Max is more like Liquid Karma while Hydroplex is more like Monster Bloom. I wanted to point out that it is ok to use BOTH of those products ( Top Max and Hydroplex) together.
I believe both ( Top Max and Hydroplex) are labelled as bloom enhancers...which really tells us nothing of substance. Anything could be considered an enhancer...

I just finished reading your whole thread. It took me 3 days but deffinately a lot of good info. you got some skills bro. right now I'm running 2 closet recirculating DWC systems and I'm about to be able to move into a room about the size of yours. I was thinking about going with a bio bucket system kinda like big tokes, but your getting just as good of yields from your system and it looks much easier. now if you don't mind I've got a couple questions for you.
1) how are the buckets drained after your flood cycle?
2) what does your flood shchedule look like?
3) Usualy ebb and flow systems are shallow so that the water evaporates
evenly. so my question is dont the bottom half of your roots get somewhat drowned?

Sounds like hydrogaurd would do me some good! I found some pesty-ass spider mites ( I think they came from some cheap soil I bought that wasn't sterilized) The leaves have tiny spots and some webbing in the lower branches. I sprayed them good when I took they last pics, so yeah maybe some hydrogaurd for next grow to help fight off unforseen circumstances! My bud sprayed again about 3 days later! I have been on vacation for a week and I'll get my gals Mon. What kind of plans do you have for your next grow Mr. W? Anything new?

Hey Mr. Wags your garden looks splendid as always. . . I was just wondering how often you have to maintain pH/water levels in the system. I have to go back to school in the fall and I need a hydro system that I can leave for at least a few days without having to worry about pH levels going way off or other major problems. . . Also, if I wanted to use more than 12 buckets off of one of those resovoirs, would I need a larger resovoir/controller bucket? I've been doing 4kW totally organic in soil but time constraints are forcing me in the hydro direction. Peace and thanks for the help.

1. By gravity and a pump my buckets are ebb and flow.
2. 1/2 hour ever 4 hours in early veg and 1/2 hour every 3 hours in flower with the final feed being 45 minutes.
3. I usually have about an 1/2 inch to an inch of water left after the total feeding so no all is well. Buckets rule man.
dc good luck with the mites those little critter will suck the life right out of your plants.
all is one I use Pure Blend pro and it has a buffer,I do have one of these tho:

Tri-meters rule for those who are lazy and don't want to dip all the time. My rez as you can see is a 55 gal barrell. With 18 buckets I fill to 40-45 gallons and watch from there, the girls are approaching the 30 day mark so they suck up 2-3 gallons a day right now with the heat being what it is I can maintain 72 at night and I let it rise to 81-82 with lights on just to get that 10 degree swing. I hate Summer.

^^ Mid Town-
the buckets drain via gravity through the feed lines to the controller bucket. In the Controller a bucket, a pump returns the water to the rez, water is fed to the controller bucket pump via gravity.

mr. wags I also prefer to use the nutra-dip tri meter even in soil. That thing rocks! So, just to be clear, you don't need to pH your resovoir daily? In theory you could go to your grow room once every few days and have everything be okay?

Amen brother but a good man always takes good care of his girls. After the rez change it will set at 6.0-6.2 and will drift doen showing an uptake of your nutes then adjust accordingly. The less chemical the better Pure Blend Pro's buffer works very well.
Midtown bartender explanation is spot on (as always) imagine if you will two buckets side by side with drain lines on the bottom of each,if you fill one bucket and continue you to do so (feed pump) until the level is the same in both. Now when you turn on the pump in side the rez water is then evacuated from both buckets untill the level in both is the same.
Ebb and Flow
Often these types of systems are called flood and drain. The plants are usually grown in pots with their roots supported by a medium of perlite, Rockwool or expanded clay pebbles (Hydroton.) The pots sit in a plastic tray which in turn sits above a reservoir filled with nutrient solution. The growing tray must be higher than the reservoir because the system relies on gravity to do the work.
A pump in the reservoir is connected to the bottom of the tray. When the pump turns on, the tray fills with water. When the water level reaches a pre-determined height, through the use of the overflow fitting, the water falls back into the reservoir. When the pump turns off, the water runs back down through the pump into the reservoir. Poetry...
Most growers choose to control irrigation with a timer. A typical schedule would involve several short 30-45 minute water cycles per day, but the duration and frequencies of watering cycles varies from one system to another and is dependent on the crop, the plant size and environmental conditions.
Ebb and flow allows for high density planting while providing a well oxygenated root system. The ebb & flow method supplies fresh oxygen to the root system of plants in two ways. First, as the tray is flooded with nutrient solution, carbon dioxide rich air is pushed out from around the root system. When the pump is turned off, the tray is drained and oxygen rich air is drawn down to the roots. This oxygen is then used by the plants until the next cycle begins.
Second, when the nutrient solution drains through the flow, it creates a splash upon impact, adding much additional aeration.
Click here to see how splashing water helps to aerate your reservoir. (note that the splashing has been artistically amplified - it doesn't really splash out of the reservoir in that manner.)
It is and Ebb and a Flow. A breathing in and a breathing out, the rhythm aerates your plants in diligent meditative cycles. Listen closely, through the babble of the water, you may hear your plants quietly saying "Om."
I know theres a diagram somewhere let me see if I can find it for ya.

I hope so T.

Hey Mr. Wags I have been considering getting this system but needed to ask a few questions first. What is the footprint size of all 12 buckets in one room? I have a 5x5 area. Is this to small for this system?
Thanx for the great show:smoker:

Mo,
No its not...That is the great thing about the ebb n grow system, is that it is modular and takes up whatever footprint you want it too. The system comes out of the box with 12 growing buckets, it is up to you whether or not you utilize all 12. The system would function the same way with one bucket or 48 buckets (max). Wagsie likes to grow trees like Lady T....but if you kept your plants smaller...say 36" and smaller, you could definately fit all 12 units in your space.
Hey mastawags...gotta pic of your power plant?

Thanx kokua ... I didn't think of it like that but you are right I could actually take the buckets off that I don't want to use. I wished that they also offered it in a six bucket version. Thanx again for the answer. I did find the whole system for 475.00 which is slightly cheaper than most.

you convinced me mr wags.... 4 years of frustrated soil grower. i give up. i surcumb to your hydro. LOL>.. but i do have to ask. How is the flavor of your pot? Stinky inky Danky smell?
mrwags
07-05-2006, 08:58 AM
SCF it's funny you should ask. On your post look at pictures 5,6,7,8. You see those pots? Those are soil in them pots and are clones from what ya see in the buckets. You see I did a little test when I did this Ice run and came up with the following conclusion.
The buckets obviously hands down wins the yield contest. Your good eye found the best 2 pictures in this thread that demonstrates the growth potential in a bucket indoors that is. Now final taste is another matter,it is close but in my honest opinion the soil had more soul and just a better high. Most folks would never tell the diffrence but being a long time toker I did.
SCF I've always said that the rocks take away a little bit of soul, even the plants you see in the buckets were prevegged in soil in an attempt to give a little back.
vonforne, welcome to our thread the c99 smells like candy man and cannot wait to try.
bartender, good to see the ole nice flying again. i do waht i can on the grows but you guys make it kind easy.

Hey Mrwags first off thank you for the welcome. IAM STILL A SOIL/soiless guy but as I learn from what you are doing in the Organic Hydro and I see the results I will be setting up a small bucket system for myself. second, plants are looking great. The WWXBB really is nice. I have some FM grapefruit in veg now until I move into my new home on friday. I was wondering something....since the grapefruit is mostly a c-99 will the gf stretch about the same? I will be cutting clones from them and putting the bigger girls outside. Where i live we can grow year around. By the time i set up the room the clones will be ready. I will post pics (as soon as I replace all the electronics my wife walked out with) But anyway thank you for the warm welcome again. Its the only forum I have recieved one in. I am looking foward to reading all your informative posts and to view the progress of each and every grow.

Master Wags, hope I dont have to be nakie to call you that, I'm convinced... buckets are the way to go... between you and GIS... I've seen it over and over... the results speak for themselves.
That being said... where is the best place to pick up an Ebb & Gro System?
What would be the best light configuration for a 12 unit system? Would 2 - 600W units be about right?

Check around on ebay! I got a 24 bucket ebb and flow from there w/controller. I got it for a steal for less than 250$ Nutes and all! It's all the same princible. Sure beats 700$ They can vary from size of buckets and a little on the controller too. You can make a great DIY ebb and flow also! Flood from top or bottom! Hope I didn't hijack here!

E-Bay is a great source for materials but always remember Snitch-Pal when ya pay for your goods. They have opened any and all doors to the man simply for the asking so be aware of the risk if ya use it. Now if I had it to do over again I would buy a controller Bucket and make my own buckets. Gold Dust Women is currently doing an awesome thread about DIY Buckets but I'm one of those that buys something to see how it works and then go my own route from there. You cannot hijack any of my threads dc105,we all come here to share and learn so with that in mind thanks for sharing.

hey wags just curious. . . Do you feel this system would be ideal for a larger grow? Like 10+ lights? I'm currently dripping (to waste) in coco/perlite and I'm thinking of switching to nft or ebb and flow buckets so as to have less medium. 10 lights worth of medium to haul in and out after every cycle.
Also, I just finished up some SD IBL and all I can say is. . . BE EXCITED!!! YUMMMMY!
As always, mrwags, you are setting the standard for excellence. peace.

abso-FUCKING-lutely!!! This system would be great for a large scale grow.
Let say you were working with 1k'ers. I'd say that each light would cover approximately a 4x4 area, so 16 square feet. That would be a 12x12/13x13 room. That is alot of space, but it is easy to fill space with the monsters that these systems produce. What do you say Mrwags? I'd say you should give each plant a 2x2 footprint. So you would have somthing like 40 plants.
*all this information is based on standard horizontal lighting with reflectors. Not vertical lighting like teresa uses.
You can fit up to 48 plants on one reservoir, but that is pushing it. And if you grow big plants, I might suggest a float falve or something to keep your res topped off for you.
I know you love this diagram Wags...they are worth a thousand words. This is good for reference...but nothing set in stone. Your lighting configuration would obviously be different and you would have more buckets :).

Happy Weekend To All. Good Luck Tony.
And for of you who know, I got a call the other night and somebody on the other end blamnend the recent events on the lack of the Special Skunk, saying no other since did the job. So with that in mind and considering where I will be sitting this Sunday and all the happy joys I will have it will make the sacrafice of a complete SS bucket run for X-Mas worth it in the end.

Before I go away for my adventure I felt it would be best to reflect upon a man and a dream.
Before I joined IC I was a member of like many here now OG way back in 02. With the new birds in the air and the old kinks in my back I felt it was time to come indoors and try my hand at Hydro. Like all newbies the OG shark tank ate my newbie ass alive so I followed Hog (I do miss Hog) here and found my home. Up until that time I had invested countless hours and many dollars in my quest for homegrown but had only managed some nasty looking so called plants in BOB and then Texas Kid was kind enough to take me under his wing and as they say the rest was history.
"Take care of the envioroment and the rest is easy" he would always say "you got the passion" to bad at that time I had no idea what lay instore.
Now here we are almost to 07 with a bunch of new faces in the same old places and life as they say is all good thanks to IC and it's memeber's I have realized a dream.
You see this dream of mine started years back when I read a Weed story about Soma, the one that told about his days at IBM How one day he said screw it and chased a dream for the buds. The more I read the article the more I wanted to be able to feel what is was like to look upon a garden of frosty buds and maybe someday be good enough to share them with the world, maybe just someday but I had a dream:
http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/21029_27_06-med.JPG (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/21029_27_06.JPG)

If you go back through my posts you will find one regarding a kid that stated the whole world was against him blaw blaw blaw and I simply stated that with a dream and a plan that anything was possible so to get off his ass quit feeling sorry for himself because if he didn't believe why should anyone else? I forgot your name guy but I just wanted you to know that I practice what I preach.
Thank You Female Seeds for the opportunity and thanks to all the members that answered all my silly little questions along the way in search of my dream. :woohoo:
But This One Is For You Texas Kid:

Very nice Wags, just woke up and got your PM. You sure have came along way and i've told you this before. I to do miss HOG and Texas Kid. They both have gave alot to IC and the members here. HOG, being one of th best bucket grower's along to Shorts and Texas Kid being one of the best Organic Hydro grower. As you know, I stay intouch with TK. Texas Kid and I came over here on day one. IC has came along way from then. I wish my buddy TK was still here, but things happen and some people can't get along. Wag, you have learned alot from the members here and TK. It sure is nice to see you made Weed World. Is there a place i can pick up that issue here in the US? I sure would like to get a copy and read the article. One thing i'm confused about your post. Are you leaving us or something? I'm bad about mood and tones on the internet and can get lost sometimes. lololol. Thanks for sharing your grows with us. Glad you stuck around and i hope your here years down the road. You know my ass will be. Even after being busted. I still stayed around after that bad shit. Well, you stick to your dreams. Dreams keep us alive and living. You know i got big dreams and they will come true soon enough. No worries Wags, you'll be visiting and kickin back at my new pad.
Take care,
BG

Very nice setup you have wags!! Looks very very clean and professional. I have one question 4 you. When your clones are rooted what medium do you put them into to veg in BOB? Also how do you transplant them into the medium? I am looking at doing hydro but I have only had great results cloning in an EZ clone machine and once roots are big enuff I transplant into soil. I can never root in rockwool for some reason If I can find out how to go from the ez clone to a multiflow bucket system filled with hydroton then I'd be in bizness. Thanks in advance for any help bro and once again AAA++++ on this grow show!!

This is the veg room mean mustard. As you can see I have a vortex fan sucking air up into my getto box which cover the window fan I've installed in the wall.
http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Central_Air-thumb.jpg (http://www.icmag.com/gallery/data/500/2102Central_Air.jpg)
Here is what it looks like on the flower side of the wall. The vortex fan more than fills the box encloser. Thank for the heads up we gotta look out for each other around here.
But please understad this is only done long enough for my clones to root in this:

And then once they look like this (usually 13 days) I will move into BOB who is seled for pre veg :

Sinsemillian - Once they root in the ez you can do a few things. You can put it into a rapid rooter or 1" rockwool cube and then stick that in to a 4" cube. Just open the cube/rooter in half and then close it around the stem with roots.
You can also go from the EZ to the hydroton in the bucket with no medium. But you will need to water a bit more.
