I am currently growing using a modified version of Hurtback's bio-buckets using Lucas formula GH Flora series nutrients. I am interested in switching to metanaturals instead of GH Flora, but I am concerned that bio-buckets will not contain enough surface area to provide colonization space for micro-organisms that break down organic compounds found in metanaturals into plant useable form. My understanding of biological processes in the rhizosphere of terrestrial plants leaves much to be desired, so my concerns may be unfounded.

If you have experience using metanaturals, or a similar nutrient program that doesn't use fertilizer salts, in recirculating DWC...

1) If measured, how rapid is the recirculation rate? If unmeasured, what is the gph rating of your pump and what is the volume of your nutrient solution?

2) Do you provide additional surface area for microbes?

3) If measured, what is the temperature and DO level of the nutrient solution at the root zone?

4) What pH have you found to be best in the reservoir?

5) Are you happy with quality and quantity of bud produced without fertilizer salts? Have you noticed any increase or decrease in quality and quantity when using organic compounds instead of fertilizer salts?

6) Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
