I have the econolight 150w vapor tight light I bought last year and converted it for remote ballast. I have also been studying the CMH from Phillips (thanks Freezerboy!!!!) and when I move up to a 400w, I am going to go with that. I noticed, however, that Phillips make a 150w bulb as well. I called them to ask what kind of ballast was required, and was told that you can not use an HPS ballast like you can for the 250's and 400's, but need a pulse-start MH ballast.
What kind of ballast is the 150 that I have from econolite? Is there a conversion that can be done or would I need to get another ballast (a waste for my situation...)?
Thanks in advance

Hi jengi, I have looked at the spectrums put out by MH, HPS, and CMH, and CMH is by FAR the best light for growing. It covers all the spectrums needed for both veg and flower, negating the need for two lights (MH for veg and HPS for flower)
Freezerboy has all the data and charts and can brief you better than I. You have enough posts to PM now, so shoot him a PM and he will be happy to fill you in. Until LEDS are bing mass produced at higher intensity levels and much lower cost, CMH seems to be the best out there.
Good luck!
edit: I found this link for ya, lots of great info on the CMH. It's a sticky in the design room: http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=72215
