I placed a seed order today. I ordered 4 strains from Spice Brother's Seeds. The strains were:
Apollo11
Apollo11XMantanuska Thunderfuck
Bubbleberry
Black Spice
The A11's and BB are F2's. The Black Spice might be a Spice Brother's original? I don't know. I read through the OG Strain Guide about the strains and they all sounded nice. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Spice Brothers strains in general and the one's I ordered specifically. Any information, pictures, grow/smoke reports etc. would be appreciated. I've been wanting to try A11 and Bubbleberry forever and I always buy the F1's when I try a new strain, but these seeds worked out to be $20 a pack, so I couldn't say no. Plus, I don't have nearly enough money to buy any expensive at the moment. This is my first time trying Spice Brother's seeds too, so I am hoping they have some good genetics. Does anyone know who breeds their seeds?
Thanks,
-Teddy

Check out some of Rezdogs posts at OG and maybe here too now. He's done some great things with the a11 genius pheno.
I dont know anyone who's grown Spice Brothers seeds, im sure they are great for the price but if i was to want some a11 hybrids id most likely pay the liitle extra for Rez's seeds as ive heard only good things, not once bad and tbh ive only heard of the spice brothers name, not the work they have done.
The a11 gets rave reviews by everyone that grows her from wat ive seen, especially if your lucky enough to find the Genius pheno, so im sure u got a winner in your selection.
The bubbleberry looks and sounds nice from the stuff ive seen n read.
Not heard of black spice.
Goodluck with em.

Hippo- I posted over at OG asking the same questions as I did here. Spice Brother's is Fet and Dman which is what I thought from what I had read, but I was not sure. Check out Apollo11Genius's post.

He put some pics up of his Apollo11 from Spice Brother's. It looks great. Hopefully someone else will have more info on the strains. From what I've read around on the net and places like OG, their strain guide, and the pictures I have seen, Spice Bros seems to have some good stuff, but I won't really know until I grow them. All the stuff I've read so far has been all positive though, so that's usually a good sign. If anyone has any info please post it.
Rezdog- Feel free to comment.....

I'll say this:
DMan's work is good.
Imo stick with DMan's SOLO Projects.
Spice Bros. is a realatively new seed vendor of F2s and crosses.
HS now has 7 vendors that sell simple crosses and F2s in a wide range of price.
They do offer lineage on the Black Spice in their strain description. It appears to be a multiple cross of commercially available strains.
I've never grown Spice seeds, but I'm a fan of cheap seeds.
You might look at Nirvana seeds at Seeds Direct. They have 3 times the strain and only $15 a pack and you only have to buy one pak for that price plus you get free seeds:).
A11 is a topnotch strain.I just finished some of Rez's A11 g4.
Here's a pic.

JLP- That A11 looks amazing. Did you get a Genius pheno?
Dobie Jaws- Thanks for the info.
Rez- If you'd like to send me a pack of A11, I'd love to do a side by side grow:D I will be trying a bunch of your crosses soon though. I've read basically nothing but rave reviews on your stuff too. Some of those crosses you have make me drool just reading about them.
The reason I am going with Spice Bro's seeds this time is because of the price. One of my friends came over yesterday and asked me to get him some seeds. This will be his 3rd grow. He was going to get Nirvana seeds again, but we checked out some other places too and came across the Spice Brother's seeds on special for $20 a pack. I looked up all the info I could in the various strain guides and message boards etc. and all I read was lots of praise, so he decided to try them.
We got to talking about growing and all that good stuff. Now, the first grow he did was with 3 plants. 2 bagseed sativas, and a clone I gave him. He killed all 3 in about 3 weeks-month. The second grow was with about 5 packs from Nirvana. That time, I sprouted and grew the seeds for him until they were about 3 weeks old. I even re-potted for him before I gave them back. I sat him down and told him basically word for word what he had to do. He ended up going to a local grow store and talking to one of the dumb shits in there and then following his advise. The guy told him to just use plain water, no nutrients at all cause they were too young. He said to just add a little Help in the water. So, all those are basically dead now from lack of nutes.
Yesterday he decided to give me those seeds to grow. He just wants some rooted clones when they are ready. I told him to go and buy "Indoor Marijuana Horticulture" and at least one other book. I then told him I would cut him clones when he needed them but he had to read through those 2 books, and the whole FAQ at OG and a decent amount of posts at the other message boards first. I am also going to give him some seeds of an AK47xC99 cross I made and an older strain I have that a friend and I made a long time ago(it's a very hard strain to kill, semi-idiot proof) so he has something to grow now.
Anyway, I ended up with 4 free packs of seeds out of the deal, and some (A11 and Bubbleberry) are strains I've been dying to try forever. The other 2 sound great too. This works out great for me because I am unable to work for at least a few more months yet ( pretty severe injury). Plus, I am getting screwed on my disability. My work took way too long to file it and now the state is trying to deny my claim. I have been out of work for 3 months now and I am broke as a joke. I also have a couple friends with cancer and since they are unable to work also, I have been giving them almost my whole harvests. I would kind of feel like an asshole if I didn't help them out. Pot is really the only thing helping them get through chemo/radiation and everything in general. They praise the weed all the time, saying its the only thing that can get them to eat, and how well it helps with their pain and chreers them up etc. It makes me feel good to be able to help too. Hopefully the new beans will have good medicinal properties for them!
Does anyone have or know of some good grow/smoke reports on these strains? There's a ton on A11 and I've read lots of them. But if you know of some on Spice Bro's A11 specifically, please share. I've also read a few on BB, but again, reports on SB's specifically would be awesome. As far as the A11xMTF and Black Spice, I've basically only read whats in the strain guide so grow/smoke reports on those would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again guys, and sorry for the long rambling post,
-Teddy

Hi Teddy. I have grown a few Spice Bros seeds. About six months ago I purchised A11, A11XMT, Bubleberry, and Silver spice.
I have grown out the bubbleberry and the A11 and I am in the prosses of growing out for the first time the A11xMT. I can omly really comment on the first two as they are the only ones that I have smoked and grown for over 1 gen.
The Bubbleberry had 4 phenos. Of the four all had great resin production and ranged from 45-55days flowering.
Pheno #1 Nice resin production not very sweet smell, not much smell at all finished in 55 days tasted pretty comercial but still stoney. (not a keeper)
Pheno #2 better resin production nice sweet smell not much like berrys or bubblegum though. Finished in about 50days flowering. Taste was sweet but no keeper.
Pheno #3 Average resin production not very sweet smell but looked good as far as bud pruduction. No keeper
Pheno #4 Was a real winner this one was the most vigorus from day one. It did very well in veg and floweing. Resin production was great very shiney buds that had great bag apeal. Smell was very nice, a very sweet grapefruit smell. Taste was great very sweet and fruity. The best thing about this was the finishing time. I could have havested easly at 40 days but It was done completely in 45days. This is my new mother for this strain and I will be keeping it for the forseeable future.
Over all there are some real gems and they were all pretty uniform but there may be a few that are not what you want. I'n my opinion thats the fun of our hoppy though.
The A11 was a much more desirible strain IMO all my friends now only want to smoke A11. All the plants had above average resin producton and flowering times ranged from 42-55 days. A11 had five phenos.
Pheno #1 Very sweet and lemony plant the most sativa of the bunch very thin leaves. The best thing was the flavor, very lemony and sweet and the flowering time was about 43 days!!.
Not a keeper due to yeild. The yeild was not bad just had smaller buds than the rest due to the heavy sativa influence.
Pheno #2 Very dense buds subtle but nice sweet smell and flavor resin was good and when I say good I mean above average. Finished in 52 days. Yeild was about the best but I had better quality on other plants that didn't have much worse of a yeild so it was also not a keeper.
Pheno #3 This was also a very sativa plant. It was very spicy instead of sweet to me it smelled like insence, very nice indeed. The yeild was blow average but the smell and resin was good. This one is now in my personal stash but its not a keeper. Due to yeild and the buds were not very dense at all they were very classic sativa with very fluffy and loose but potent buds. Finished in 52 days.
Pheno #4 This was the winner. Durring the beginning of flowering it smelled very sweet like bubble gum and candies. This was the winner in the resin catagory hands down resin production was exesive. The flowering time was a little longer about 50days but it was the second best yeilder and the resin and smell was great. Once it finished the bud was one of the top 3 I have ever had in the taste catagory. It was like smoking lemon candie but more on the sweet side then lemon. The high was the best of all it was very ceribral and workable. I can honestly say I have not been so high in a long time.
One thing that I liked about all of the A11 phenos was that there was never any come down from the high it just faded away. All in all I would highly recomend the ALL. Bubbleberry was less imprssive but sill very good when you found the right pheno. Anyway I hope this gives you and others a good idea about what you are buying.
FUCK THAT WAS ALOT OF RIGHTING MY FINGERS NEED A BREAK. :D

I'm out of A11 G4,except my backstock-should I decide on a G5 ;)
Also,I won't support "comparisons" with free seeds.I don't breed to compete, and my work speaks (loudly)
for itself....plus,it seems that lots and lots of growers are happy....I DO beta various seeds,Teddy, and I will ikeep you in mind in the future. :)
Cheers!

I was just joking about the free seed thing. I would love to test run a new strain for ya though. :D Rez- Do you know how people have been doing finding a genius pheno in the A11G4's?

I've grown Green Giant fem'd. It's a top notch strain if you're after high yield and little manicuring. Needs a little extra time to put on the resin... don't chop at week 8. Let it go 10-11 weeks 4 sure. Never seen a herm... all female. Some variation in size of colas, but most pheno's crack out BIG ones. This plant doesn't like much ferts and it's mold susceptable. I would get the GG x AK47 fem'd before getting plain ol GG fem'd.
Now I am starting Black Spice vintage 2005. Take a look at this strain in the strainguide over a OG. It's a whopper.

Fet and Dman are good people. Fet has given me many of his crosses to test in the pass and i've had nothing but great grows with them. If you goto HS or Doc's site and look at the Fem Green Giant's. You'll see BG plants as the plants Fet uses to show what the plants can look like. Also there are tons of killer threads to read through over at CW and their help desk is also over. You won't go wrong with their stuff.

Spice Bros sells solid genetics at a great price which does happen to piss other vendors off...
I have grown out their Rosetta Stone (unique strain!) as well as their Nevilles Haze F2 which I am VERY pleased with.
Fet is a cool guy and if you care to discuss his strains...you can find him at

FET and spice bros are up there as the best breeders/seed sellers IMO. All of there strains are top notch, and I NEVER see him jack up prices or charge crazy amounts of money. I would go with them anyday. I would reccomend the a11 x mtf if it was still around :( But a11 is still around, and thats a great strain. Good luck.
Ohh and crucifix you are right on the money with that one ;)
