I've got a feminized Skunk #1 from Seedsman Seed Co. thats 28 days old, and has been under 12/12 for almost the entire time. I'm growing under ~170w of CFL's in a cab thats 28" tall. I went 12/12 from the start because I was afraid of height issues, but now this Skunk #1 is 3" tall and is starting to show its first bud at the top. I'm curious if I should have let it veg for a while first, or if its gonna stretch enough to be maybe 12"-16" when it finishes if I just let it grow straight up (No training or topping)

Right now I'm hunting for long term mothers more than going for max yield, I was planning on reveg'ing her if I want to keep her.

I haven't been able to find out much about how much Skunk #1 stretches, so I'm not sure if I should just let it be or if I should throw her under 24/0 for a while then put her back to 12/12 when she's a bit taller.
Suggestions? comments? advice?
Thank you!!!

I'm pretty sure no matter what strain it is that it will grow to a decent size before it stops growing and puts on the buds. I don't know about switching it back to veg now... but I'd recommend at least 3 weeks of veg rather than 12/12 from seed in the future.

I don't think it will hurt to switch it back to 24 hours if you wish since its not putting out flowers yet, but it should stretch more so you have nothing to worry about.

Here is a link with some info on your strain:

http://www.druglibrary.org/strainguide/Sensi_Seeds/Skunk__1/2022/index.html#g2022

There are 4 grow reports on that page...make sure you click on "view full grower's report" to get all the info.

This "druglibrary.org" site has all kinds of similar grow reports, just type your strain's name into google and then look for a hit that is for this website.

From what I read, the reports seemed to suggest that it was a tad stretchy, the 4th report on that page was for a grow that was done 12/12 from seed, check that one out. But this report is for Sensi Seeds version, not sure how different it is from yours.

Thanks for the replies guys! And Hal, thanks for the link, that site looks pretty cool!

I'll leave it 12/12 and see what happens, next time around it'll veg though!

you should have had it on 24/0 tied it over at around the height it is now and then it would bush out and you could take cuttings and then flower it. remember that for next time :P

let it carry on with 12/12 tho, you will still end up with a decent sized cola. also its hungry, its going yellow and it needs feeding nitrogen!!

Thanks for the heads up Smokey!
I noticed it was looking a bit yellow almost a week ago, and last time I watered it (4 days ago) I fed it 1tsp Grow Big and 2 tsp Big Bloom in a gal of water, should I be feeding more?

names of ferts mean nothing to me, i do not use the same ones.
feed with something that has high N, low P and low K to keep the plant green and stave off the yellowing.

Haven't seen the PH mentioned yet. If your PH is outa whack, it will prevent certain nutrients from being used by the plant, and adding nutrients will not help in that case.

So, make sure the water you are using (if you are watering with nutrient enriched water, measure after nutes are added, they will change the PH reading) is around 6.5 (for soil, different for hydro).
