I just switched over from ionic nutes to pbp, i use an aeroflo36, i have to constantly unclog the sprayers due to the the thickness of the pbp.. any suggestions

The "Pro" doesn't near the solids as the original so it's wierd that it is clogging.

Are you using spinners or 360's?

Do you use Liquid Karma? that has alot of solids in it.

Hey boggah ,
hey TK ,

boggah , if your pump sit's in your res , why dont you make a pump sock ?
all it is , is a cheese cloth bag that goes over the pump , that should help.

i run PBP in drip systems and while it's not a problem for me and PBP is not really thick or chunky those misters in aero are trying to make 15 micron droplets{so small} that anything but a pure chem nute is gonna give you a problem.

i'd try that pump sock , if ya dont wanna make one, i'll give you a link to a place that sells them

i run aero tables with spinners,so im hopin that i wont have any issues,im thinkin of swithchin from GH to PBP. I use a filter bag on my pumps.I imagine as this is an aero/nft hybrid with larger dropletts that it wont be an issue.

I use gh 3-part, Kool Bloom and Diamond Nectar. I haven't had any issues with the holes clogging. I clean them between harvests.

There are no spinners or drippers in an AeroFlo. It's tubes with holes in them which spray water down into the reservoir for you, causing a mist which keeps the roots moist.

Here's how it looks:

I ran the same regime except the kabloom as Californian and i would get clog probs sometimes. Prob i came across with the Aeroflo36 Units (i run 2) is that the salt build up is hard to clean when a run is complete. I recommend net filters the pumps. I would think there would be probs running this system with organic nutes. Diehardtje runs similiar setups and was going to use h2o2 to clean the system. Let me know what you guys do to clean the systems when done. Thanks Jubei

Do you ever use cleanex or something similar for flushing? The guy at the hydro shopsaid it would take care of salt build up.

I use a filter bag and have no problems. Between grows I also take my 360 degree spinners off and soak them in a clearex solution overnight, then wash them out. No problems so far...

H2O2 and bleach mixed in tap water cleared clogged sprayers in under 30 minutes flat in my aero system.

Yeah, but chlorine bleach is some toxic stuff. It never bio-degrades - just breaks down into Dioxin, which is baaaad shit.

Pardon my ignorance, but in theory wouldn't the sock/cheesecloth prefilter also remove more of certain nutes than others depending on particle size as well?
