Also the reason you don't see some of the vipar like the green one that you posted is because company's change led styles like people change there underwear. They try to keep up with the competition.

The vipar LEDs are really good Quality lights. They only use 2 fans instead of 1000 and they are pretty quiet. I can send you a link to the actual vipar led on eBay vipar also sells on eBay. They carry the same gaurentee.

If you look around on icmag that green panel you posted someone actually did a full grow with a few plants under one of those panels and it came out pretty good.

Now LEDs aren't gonna replace your 1000w hid light but if you are looking to do a couple plants they will get the job done. That is the reason why I bought 4 panels with 2 ufos so this way it would cover my 4x4 with no dark spots. I was gonna veg with the 2 ufos and flower with the 4 big panels. The only thing I hated with LEDs is the constant need for calmag. But 2 of those panels covered the 4x4 well but I wanted more intense light so I bought 2 more to add to the tent.

If you also look on YouTube there is a guy that flowered a bunch of plants with eBay bought Chinese LEDs and the results were pretty damn good. That's the issue with LEDs if you plan to do a decent size area u need more than one panel or go out and spend a ton on a lumigrow or lush lighting but then u still might need another panel to help out depending on the space you are trying to cover.

Maybe this summer I'll do a small grow with my vipar led panels since I won't be using my hid summer and I'll show the results and do a thread on it so you can see the results. Then you can choose for yourself wether LEDs/Chinese leds are worth buying.

Ive seen 4 watt led pot lights from china, bought thru ebay. Not up to safety standards, fire hazard andeectrical shock hazard to save a few bucks.

Ill explain a little more. It was a gu10 style socket. Plugs in both ways. Bulb is designed to only plug one way. So u have 50 50 chance of getting it wrong. Next when its plugged in wr9ng the face plat becomes hot/live. Just something I have seen at work shown to me by an electrician.

Depending on the blue range of the WWs, you might want 1/4 CW as mj needs ~ 10% 450-550 blue in flower

Hey t-bag, choosing of LED light depends on growing space, same as HPS. From my own experience, for 1^m is OK "450W" (~230W real consumption), try to choose light with ~50W per square feet at least.
I have also Vipar LED lamp, bought last year in UK ebay (because customs & VAT), check results in my thread [Czech, pictures on end pages] (1st indoor round, now ~2 weeks till end).

I'm going to build my own light, based on 4x 100W Bridgelux COB, only warm white emitters. Next round there will be, I hope, some results for LED lamps comparison.

Good luck with choosing "THE RIGHT" light for you! :]

Thanks for info, but I'll try all COB's WW, this light will be for flowering only. If there will be some problem, I can replace one COB easly, but in this moment I'm going to build it with WW only (4x Bridgelux 100W + 4x 100W driver, I found price $240 incl. DHL shipping).

ok great, so I got to choose between one of these three:
VIPAR B2X3 LED Grow Light
http://www.ebay.it/itm/181146452439?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

VIPAR Reflector LED Grow Lighting 400W 3W 5W Lamp Panel
http://www.ebay.it/itm/171300688387?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

apart from the wattage of the two panels which will look best?

Without par data and an assessment of build quality its guesswork , I would hesitate to recommend any newly introduced LED fixture.

Talk about what you know about

Talk about what you know about

U get what u pay for. Stay away from china electrical products. 450watts led from china could spell house fire. German, north american, lots of euro countries make good quality.

You know this how? U get what you pay for is true you pay the middleman to make you feel like you know what's up....you're an asshat.

China mfg's many of the best light made. There is loads of evidence that they work fine. They offer service guarantees. NO ONE on any forum I viewed in the last year has cited any incidence of LED fire hazards.

LEDGROWLIGHTMANUFACTURER on Ebay is legit. At times there are amazing deals. Don't allow nit witted pussbabies to scare you off a good deal

Twenty LED lighting products have been banned or recalled in the European Union so far this year due to risks of electric shock or fire.

But differences between the amount of unsafe LED products found by the authorities in different countries suggest that the handful of items identified is only the tip of the iceberg.

Finland, for instance, which benefits from a relatively robust market surveillance regime, spotted more than a third of the dangerous LED products dealt with in the whole of Europe – even though the country is home to barely one per cent of the EU’s population.

The products affected included retrofit lamps, floodlights, torches and linear fittings. Most were made in China, although two were made in Germany. In the majority of cases the products were ordered to be recalled and withdrawn from sale.

One of the products found to pose a risk of electric shock was an LED night light in the shape of Christ on the cross, on sale in Slovakia.

The worst hit brand was China’s Jiage, which has had two of its LED torch products banned in Hungary because they could cause electric shocks, burns or fire.

Two years ago I ran every appliance in the house through a PAT test , a cheap fleabay panel and an expensive HGL one both failed , a timer was an accident waiting to happen.

T-bag I'd check out COB models, but I disagree that mmj needs a full spectrum. On that latter point, TaNG on autoflower.net has achieved near 0.9 grams per watt on photos w/ one month veg using soil. I'd imagine with hydro you can up that substantially.

Back to COBs: Houyi (www.ledaquagrow.com) sells them on eBay, but they're about 20% cheaper if you go with AliExpress or just contact them directly at their website. Here's the AliExpress links:

http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1075277

Note that they have more models than what's on the store. Check their website.

Here's the 4 x 4 PAR footprint at 12" for their 16 x 75 watt model, which draws about 700 watts:

Here's the 4 x 4 PAR footprint at 12" for their 9 x 75 watt model, which draws about 400 watts:

Caveats: I asked them to do this test, and these are indeed their numbers, so to be taken with a grain of salt.

Bottom line leds suck for anything other than clones or veg.

Get a real light :)

We were saying ... (thanks #sourpussy for your thoughts have made me change my mind on the LED, I saw that you were very detailed .. thank you for the tip) taking one or two 75w cob from the vegetative to do and more vipar 400w for flower, there should be calculating that we are talking about 2/4 autoflw?! thank you friends and do not argue!

Quality matters, especially when ur harvest is ridding on it. And u sure as hell dont want to wake up to fire... the whole world is gonna come put that fire out if it dont kill u it gets u busted at the least....

Think about fire control... there r automatic extinguishers that hang from the ceiling. Bout 50 bucks to save your ass.
Sometimes you have no idea if they are from China or not, I got burned big time buying lights on ebay. They even have a warehouse in america called joyhyrogrow.
