Mister D's Vertical Redemption

Always a learnin curve for new setups....especially with bare bulbs and sideways canopies.....and yeah......

Guess the acid`ll take care of runs for the the next 10 yrs at least......still got Napa Auto Parts jugs in my barn that`ll never be used.......well......maybe lil bit fer some headies............

D-ville`s lookin better from Fred-ville Bro........ Dial strains to know how long to pre-veg before flip to develop proper height and width of canopy thickness for the sideways lumen penetration and be golden........

Like the "Breeding setup"............Can`t wait ta see what an old fart with knowledge and experience comes up with........anyways........

You da man D`ster.....

Peace...Freds.....:ying:.........

hi D (and vert gang) :)
just went through the whole thread, heads up courtesy of sgapetti :) I have so many questions that I won't pop any...

I'll keep in mind just one thing you said for now - the importance of details.

Thanks for sharing, subbing this is an easy choice lol

Ya freds, definitely lots of dialing left to be done in there. I knew this run was going to be a mess before it started though. Aside from that I havn't been on top of canopy management nearly enough.

Glad you found your way over to my thread . Was reading your thread just a few days back actually. Feel free to ask any/as many questions as you want. This thread is hear so I can teach people what I know, and learn some things myself along the way.

General update - I put 28 plants from veg into the breeding room yesterday. They are getting 48 hours of dark before their first day of flower. The only reason for doing this is because I don't have all my lights/ventalation hung atm. Also due to the size of the plants i'm tearing down the ebb/flow table for this round and just doing vert dounuts. Still debating if I will use 4 or 5 600's. Pondering new design ideas for the racks also, but i'll get into that more once i've developed my idea a bit more.

Settle in with a setup you`re comfortable with and dial that bitch......

I know waaaaay too many old head growbro`s screamin bout chasin the gpw`s when it`s right under their nose......just takes dialin environment and watts per sq ft.......

Not talkin bout you Bro , but just puttin it out there for the folks cuz as yas said......this thread`s for knowledge and experience.....

Feel yas for doin donuts with longer vegged plants , but runnin 4-5- 600`s depends on sq ftg and environmental control ......right ?.......

I know you`ll figure it out and make us proud.....Holler if yas ever need anything Bro.......

Peace.....Freds......:ying:......

Room is 12 x 12' sealed, but connected to the other room via 14" max fan exhaust that tee's into the big filter in the veg room. Then I got the 10" max fan sucking air from down low in the veg room into the breeding room through two 8x24" phresh filters. This allows all three rooms to use the same a/c, co2 burner, and dehumidifier. Also double filters the air for smells. The rack room and the breeding room flip/flop so only one flower room and the veg room are on at one time. Still waiting on a couple more duct parts to tie everything together. I'll take pictures and explain in more detail once its all in place. Donuts are being done out of necessity, the plants are simply to tall to fit under the lights on the ebb/flow table. You and I both know 4-5 600's, is based on environmental control and proper watts per square foot ;), but for those of you that don't know...... Now you know. Everything I do when designing and building my rooms is all based off "the rules". Follow them and a person can't help but yield bucket loads of great herb. It's not cheap to do things right though, I've spent somewhere around 3,000 just on the breeding room setup. However I'll recoup that and more after this first harvest. Freds feel free to add anything you'd like in my thread, as we've both mentioned this thread is all about knowledge. Don't hesitate to point out anything you think I may have missed, or might be of benefit to me or the readers. I don't need much help these days, but I'm far from being a master of the craft.

420weedman - I'd venture to guess being that stuff is clay based it will just turn to mush when wet then get hard as a rock during the dry cycle. So to answer your question no, you wouldn't gain any kind of benefit from using it. Floor dry is straight DE, not mixed with clay. I like that you are thinking outside the box though :good:

always nice to follow :)

I was wondering one simple thing - I saw you talking about UV rays in the sgapetti thread, and I was curious so I bought two 15W UV cfls (8€ - 10$ each). Btw my tent is tiny.
Would they do any good added to my 150w HPS? Have you ever thought of adding some yourself to increase resin production? thanks I hope is not too OT -blush-...

EDIT: I'm looking for posts from Phaeton, and doing my homework in general - but I can't seem to find hard facts and I'd like some insight from a pro :D

I'm definitely more than a lil OCD, but the amount of seeds has more to do with experience. Let me explain, last time I did a serious pheno hunt it took me about 500 seeds to find 5 worthwhile mothers. 3 of them were truely world class in everyway. So I figure if I crack all ~300 of the seeds i've recently purchased I should find one or two mothers worthy of keeping around . This is all part of the process that will lead me to 10 lbs off three 600's. Genetics are just as important as enviroment.

In a small cab you may notice some small difference simply because you can get enough coverage with the UV bulb to have an effect. In a bigger area there is just no cost effective way to get the coverage needed to see any results. I've done countless hours of research on light, and i've never seen anything to sway me into believing the power used to run a UV bulb is worth the tiny effect it has on trichromes. That assumes there really is an effect and it's not just subjective (never seen any lab comparisons). Basicly i'll tell you the same thing i've told every person that has asked me about this (there's been quite a few). If you want to grow better more potent cannabinoid profiles, focus your efforts on better enviromental control, genetics, and feeding practices. There is no magic bullet to growing, only providing the best care possible for the best result possible.

My OCD is the best diesel out there.

Is it stemmy and mold covered also?

I have some new pics that i'll upload here shortly and do an update......
