What's new

A is 4 PiMp's n00b cabinet grow

SHIT I hope there OK for you

Same here, luckily its just on the indica (which ive been debating on chopping down this week anyways) but still it kinda has me on edge now, there was a few weeks where there was nothing but a RH of 50-60% but recently its dropped down into the 40's

It's pretty important to have fans blowing on them at all times at this point also...especially during dark time to prevent mold...you can get away with the RH you have as long as you have the fans going...

Just as promised, heres a pic of the suspected "mold bud""

picture.php

if you look closely to the left side of the bud you can kinda see it, looks almost like a damn cobweb.

I don't know why i didnt see this coming, the indica had the lowest buds touching one another so something was bound to happen sooner or later, when the lights come on in an hour i will have to take a closer look to inspect for more damage :(

Yeah I see it
Maybe it's on only the one isolated bud.
Hope so.
Good Luck

Yeah i think its just (worse) on that bud and the one on the other side of the main branch has a little spot on it too, at least it didnt look TOO bad but i will take pics of any new findings when the lights come on.

Am I at least right in calling it "mold", i went through the "infirmary thread" really quick because i was on the way out the door, the picture that was in the example doesnt really illustrate what it looks like.

I don't have a fan directly on the plants, now im kinda regretting that, I didn't think of mold being a problem but it makes sense with the indica because the buds were so tight together along the main stem, on the sativa i noticed the buds are really fluffy and loosely packed on the stems

On a side/high note: kinda crazy how much the leaves shriveled up on that bud since i chopped it this morning

Well upon closer examination it looks to me that its just that 1 little nugget that has the worst damage, the one next to it has a tiny speck, I don't want to keep bending it to get a closer look because i'm afraid i might twist it off

Just cut out the moldy parts and keep an eye on it....and fans on them until they dry all the way

Oh, well i didnt think about cutting out the moldy parts, i just cut the other bud off, just to make sure it wont spread, saw a little fuzz on the stem and applied some h2o2.

I gotta rig up a computer fan drying box or something

Trying to dry buds with no fans = moldy buds pimp...

Sometimes when the mold is just starting you can get away with cutting just the mold out and, if you have a fan blowing on them, it will stop the spread....either way the moldy part is ruined unless you make iso with it....do not smoke it though!

Generous airflow is a key to proper drying IMHO

See thats the thing, I can recall times when ive bought random sacks of dirt weed and I remember seeing patches of this same fuzz on it, not knowing what it was i still smoked it lol, thats bad huh?

It is hard/impossible to know what kind of mold fungi it is, just by looking at it with the naked eye. It might be something common like forexample Aspergillus, but then again there is alot of strains of Aspergillus. You have no idea what kind of toxic substances there could be in it, if any, but it is gambling with your health to get it into your respiratory passages.

I know its bad i was just joking in the above post, i checked the drying buds and it seems to me that whatever it is, is gone after i scraped/chopped the affected areas off yesterday, im thinking about just chopping down the rest of the indica this weekend or something

Sorry for the REALLY late harvest update, finally chopped down the big sativa, smoked a lil bit (probably a few grams) and took a pic

Really leafy/loose buds, with a finger scale it read around 7.5-8ish, next time around I need to get a digital scale.

Figured this would be my last update since its finally dry

Well thanks for the ride, Pimp. It's been a good one. You're gonna have to ditch the noob thread and start another.:D

What do you think about more lights and an exhaust fan/scrubber? A scrog screen might help with the low headroom.

I was thinking about ditching the cabinet and going with stacked rubbermaid containers next time around, this time with BETTER VENTILATION, and a fan blowing air around on the inside, might throw a screen in there.

I'm pretty sure more light can help reduce the chance of loose leafy buds with sativas right?

Because in the jars it looks like alot of bud but when you pull it out and break some down its like.. "oh"

Was also thinking about doing an outdoor grow alongside some veggies and pest resistant plants

What Sarge said...congrats on your first grow. You made it to harvest your first time, there are a lot of people who couldn't accomplish that right there. Next time it will be even better if you use all the knowledge you've gained from this grow :good:
