exactly, I'm scared shitless of the state card for this reason, the top MMJ activist here had the same shit happen and it was ugly, kids taken etc....no fun..at all

Unfortunately this is not the exception. Was it state or feds? Had to be feds right? Or some local yocal cowboy leo? According to the DEA, "no grow is too small, you grow we show." As per the DEA, people that believe the state laws will protect them live on another planet, people that believe the federal gov won't go after them, are naive. It's sad but this is reality folks.
Yea they are knocking down doors left and right in my old stomping grounds in SanFran, something like 40 houses this summer, two friends got busted and they werent even big time. They had a couple pounds big fucking deal, they kicked in a door over 2 pounds.
There was a story in the news about a baby ass grow last week with only 1k in cash, it probably costed 10k in police hours to make that bust. What a fucking waste of time and money, CALIFORNIA IS NOT SAFE PEOPLE.

In 21 days the first Federal marijuana case will be heard, where the feds are allowing the medical MJ defense. It's in California too, so if that guy gets off, the DEA will effectively have its hands tied in relation to MMJ.

Drug raids are almost always in the early morning when people are least prepared/able to do anything last minute (not even awake most of the time...) I don't see why its hard to believe that law enforcement would use the things at their disposal like flashbangs or why they would do questionable things from our point of view like "rape a dog".
Raids happen, thats one thing we can agree on haha... yet another reason you shouldn't believe the threads are bs.

With zero details we can only make assumptions, but I can pretty much guarantee the dude was doing something illegal and it doesn't have to be the Feds. Just because you have a recommendation doesn't mean you can't break state laws. What if this guy was growing legally but selling to non-patients? Some California District Attorneys are now taking the position that state law bans the sale of marijuana and are raiding dispensaries with the threat that they are going to be arresting doctors for recommending to people who "aren't sick" whatever that means. If I were to guess, I would guess this was a state, not a federal raid given what is going on right now. I'm starting to think I may have to start growing for myself so I don't get caught with my pants down in case I wake up one day and read in the paper that all the dispensaries are shut down.
