grow room design help

yeah man that makes perfect sense. would the 270 cfm 6inch can fan keep that light cool, though?

i doubt my ac blows more than 100cfm's anyways. so negative pressure shouldn't be a problem unless i leave the door wide open.

i have no idea on cooling the light, oh the other thing, are you dead set on the light? consider 2 600w?

i ran 2 400w in a 4x4x8,6 in canfan, eh.....w/ room at 71 it kept the tent at 75- 77, but that was also w/ the front open. closed it got to 86 but woud run at 83. so it could have been bettr. i did not have an ac in the room just the house ac.

sorry man i dont like this design. i am not gonna exhuast my tent through my 1k light. i have been told not to do that by a good friend of mine. he said it would be okay with a 400 or maybe even a 600.

and yes i already did realize a flaw in that design and had moved on from that design a few post back.

your friend is wrong becuase im running 2x 95,000 lumen bulbs (600w gavitas which burn hella hot) through an appropriate sized canfilter, all through a buttload of 6" ducting, out the tent, into a 6--8 step up, 8 inch duct a few more feet into the attic, and then out a 8" 650cfm fan. it keeps shit cool. thats 1200w of hot ass light being pulled out and it works. but what do i know i only got it running as we speak during a fuckin heat wave. theres like 15 feet of bendy and inefficient ducting on there too.

lol

you are making things wayyyyy too complicated.

there certainly is more than 3 ways to skin cat, truth is you will have your own unique and specific issues but you will getr dun.

i dont know man i just would rather not exhaust through my light. i have been told its just not a good idea. no one ever said it wouldn't work. glad it works for you. plus you got that 8" can fan. and probly a really expensive filter. the hole in my tent is 6. i also beleive that would raise the temp of tent. couldn't humidity be bad for the bulb? there is just lots of questions that i dont know about. so im gonna keep it going through a air cooled hood.

IE2KS_KUSH - I am pretty dead set on the 1k light. my friends grow some pretty dank stuff with there 1k. they have a 600 to. which is pretty good actually. but still, you can kinda tell when you compare. just the texture or something. more fluffier? idk its nice, though :p

you can do the light seperate, no problem. just a fan, intake and out from outside the room, then 1 big can and filter working the room. sounds good. don't forget some passive intake for the room too.

the ac in the room will help tons, gives you options

So far I am going with this design, unless anyone can find a flaw in it.

it seems the most logical.

Looks good but I would suggest exhuasting everything into the attic otherwise you're just raising the air tempereature of the room the tents sit in there fore tempsin the cab would go up.Exhuast everything to the attic or a seperate room or out a window and you will stay at or just above ambient temps (temperature of room the tents sit in).Still this will work, only you may have to keep your a/c set lower.

I see I or no one else even asked but what will the ambient temp (temperature of the room the tents sit in) going to be?

well mostly even during the summer without an ac in that room it stays around 75 to 85. and then with fans circulating the room it stays pretty good. so its not like i have to have an ac.. and if i do then it sokay to run it kinda directly to the light. but i guess i could just exhuast the light back into the room if the ac's is on. i got lots of options here for the light exhaust.

now during the winter months im gonna exhaust it right back into the room. it will be like a heater and keep me warm at night :)

i do get what you are saying, though. i am exhausting my tents right back into my room which could turn out to be a bad idea. so i mite exhaust them into the attic as well. we will see when the time comes.

the only change in my design would be to run ducting from the top of my tent to the attic for the tent exhaust and that would be it, so its not someone i can fuck up when buying my setup.

do you guys think this design would be better? i know i said i didn't want to exhaust the tent through the light, but i guess i dont see any major problems in doing so if i have a good enough fan and filter. which i think the vortex 6 and can fan 50 filter combo would do well enough.

Looks great and by all means more efficient (less fan noise, less power used) but why not use a passive intake in the flowering tent?

The exhuast fan that cools the light and scrubbs the flowering tent would be on 24/7 anyways and that would creat a negative pressure environment, meaning no stinkies escaping the passive intake, all odours would get sucked through the filter.

well cause the intake fan is only like 30 bucks. and it will pull air in from the room that could stink from the veg tent a little better.. see what i mean? the veg tent has no filter it just exhaust out that top at around 100cfm or something.. then the intake of the flowering tent is around 200cfm.

makes sense to me. if i dont like it, i will take it off. its only 30.. im sure i could find a use for it.
