What do grey rep dots mean?

I know what you mean. Like your dot is grey under your avatar, that means that you have decided to turn your rep off.
I am talking about people who don't have their rep turned off, I can see green under their avatar, but when they gave me a rep, it shows up as grey in my rep list.

i don't even know what rep dots are for PERIOD. I don't think there's a point per se - I think it was implemented by some sad and lonely people who equate someone clicking a button to calling you to hang out Friday night.
Oh, yeah, that explains it then. So when they get enough posts, all of my grey dots will suddenly become active, and the rep will jump up?

oh okay it's like a way of self-policing.
It is suppose to be an indicator of good/bad advice about growing-- They used to (I think I remember right) have Rep disabled in the Tokers Den...to keep Rep about growing knowledge and skills...but now it is available in all sections--

Do you mean, the rep list? You just click on "My IC" and it will show.

It was significant when "grow related" karma was accounted for but it really means little in this context except maybe that people like you
