I agree its hard to tell atm as it doesnt look like a cluster of balls just yet, give it about a week more time and we can tell ya spot on what it is, but atm its kinda hard :S
Take your time and sex them properly, if given time the differences between dude and dudette become obvious. You have plenty of time because after showing sex it still takes some time before the male will drop pollen so there is no need for a rush to judgement. Make absolutley sure before you cull anything,I once had a northernberry goil that was a male impersonator, what I mean is that instead of single female preflowers it had clusters of female preflowers and until it pushed out white hairs it looked remarkably like a cluster of male preflowers but she was all lady. I came very close to culling her but I waited a few days and sure enough it sent out mad white hairs and there wasn't a male flower anywhere on her.
Good female plants get culled every day by those who have little patience.
I've seen photos here of plants that were culled, when there was no way the grower knew what it was going to be. They see a nodule and they think it's a male, when it may in fact not be a male.
Rudedewd and others have it right. There's no hurry, none of the boys are making pollen yet, so wait a little longer to be sure. I was growing a new strain, looked like I had 6 for 6 boys at the stage you're at , but thought to myself I can always toss them later. Good that I waited a while , there's 3 ak47 ladies coming along nicely.
Hey thanks for the replies. I'm not in any hurry and wasn't planning on doing anything drastic yet. I've still got them on 18/6. But probably not for much longer. I'm thinking about flipping them over to 12/12 in a week or so. 4 of them are about 16" or so tall right now (the ones I showed you the pictures of are all that height). I have one more of that same strain that is only about 8" tall. I'm not sure why that one's so much shorter than the other ones. In case anyone is interested at all those are those Power Skunk that Attitude was giving away a while back. I haven't really read anything good about the strain, or those seeds, but they're doing pretty good for me. I kind of like them. Especially for free. I just hope I end up with at least a couple ladies out of the bunch. Thanks again for the help. I'll keep you updated.
Obviously give them some more time, but I'd guess:
First one isn't close enough in that I could have any clue.
Second one might be male.
Third one looks female, with two tiny, out-of-focus pistils forming? I guess this could be something to do with the picture rather than something that exists on the plant itself, but I'd guess that this is female.
So ?, male, female is my guess. But yeah, wait until you're 100% sure anyway, no harm in being sure.
I have some updated pictures for you guys to look at. I already got rid of one that I am positive was a male. And I think the rest of these are males too but I want you to look at them to be positive.
On post #10 1,2 and 3 are males that could pop at any time. 4 is too early to be 100% sure.
On post #11 they all look like males but you still have time to wait it out a little.
i find it hard to tell from your pictures. there is no danger of pollen yet. how long have you been on 12/12 lighting ? every plant should show its sex in at most 20days. usually 5-10days for males and 7-15days for females
It's been 7-8 days (of 12/12). I got rid of the three that I'm pretty much positive were males. They all had groups of those balls with no hairs coming out. I have one female that was showing before I switched them to 12/12 of the same strain. And the rest look nothing like that one. That's why I think they're males. That and the groups of balls.
If those do all end up being males (and I'm at least 99% sure that they are), I wonder why I got 4 males and one female out of those seeds. They were free seeds but I still wouldn't expect 4 males and 1 female out of them.
