I am about to make the jump to coco and I have a question.

I started my plants in those plastic beer cups and I want to transplant them into their new coco home. So how long after I transplant should I hit them with any food instead of just plain water ? I would say they are a month old at this point. I plan once I transplant to let them veg for another week at least maybe two.

I have just had a few cuts from a mate who had them in soil.... I took it carefully, so as not to overwater the soil bit and just lightly watered from the coco filled sides the soil got enough from it and all went well.

Much easier to go straight from coco.... if it is an auto, one breeer told me to stick it direct into a 10L pot from the word go to get the max poss sized plant.

Yeah I was thinking I would just take it easy at first until the roots started growing out the bottom of the soil and into the coco. But as for the auto needing to go right into a 10l pot...I think it is a waste of whatever medium you are using. I have done the way I have been doing and going right into a big pot and the difference is not that big of a deal to warrant it. I am getting ready to pull several plants of a new af cross and one is going to be pretty close at a full O in 8 weeks from seed w/o going into a large pot to start with. S_a_H

Interesting reading S_a_H, I will have to try it myself to see what hapens. The tip was from Mr Autofem, there may be some reason why it is truer for his strains, or maybe he is hunting the last few g's everywhere

good luck with your cross, look forward to reading all about it in the Autos section

Coco does not have any nutes in it so you are supposed to start feeding from day one. Coco is not like soil as it needs to stay moist all the time. Before the roots fill their new home you may only have to water every other day or so but once they fill up and start drying out you need to water everyday. Hope this helps.
