I read the DiY Ballast install kit thread to try and understand what the different wires inside a ballast are.I had to switch over my cords/socket to another ballast cause one failed on me.But i seem to have the wiring mixed up.There's a big and small transformer. Some are cap wires and some are com wires.Does anyone understand which are which?

I got my ballast running ,but now after about 3 hours i can smell a slight burning .Im sure a wire is hooked up wrong. So i switched it off.If anyone can explain the wires from the big transformer and the small transformer,it would really be a big help.Below is a image of
how i have the ballast wired.1 wire comming from the bulb isn't hooked up ,im not sure where it goes......Something is not hooked up right,i think its the bulb...im not sure..If anyone has any suggestions ,i'd like to hear them...

i bet u smell smoke.
for starters, the power from the outlet goes to the ballast first, not the ignitor
the cord power goes to 120v (black )and a com wire (white). (im assuming its 120v?)
the green ground wire should be bonded to your ballast. (metal)
cap off any other leads for the primary. (208v, 240v, 277v,etc)
the secondary wires, coming out the opposite side of the ballast from the primary, should be labeled where they go on the leads, hook em up accordingly if possible.

you prolly fried some shit out from the fuck up.
take some pics

Thanks for the replies .One of the problems is .The company "inside sun" The transformers they used are old re-furbisheed ones. They don't even have colored or labeled wires, they are all black wires ,ya just have to know where the wires from each side go,

I stuck a 400 hydrofarm halide in there ,until i can figure this out.Got the pdf loading.
Newer transformers have only 1 transforemer, this one has 2 .Ahh well ill keep reading...
