Ph flux question

Ok so i been growin a long time and i dont have a noob question here. Im in an ebb and flow systen using GH floranova. Everytime i change my rez or make up a new solution at all. It takes about a week before Ph stables out. I can handle it and it doesnt affect my grow but why does it do this? Medium is 1x1 rockwool in hydroton in net pots. Raises to 6.4 6.5 everytime i change or makeup a rez. Why?....anyone know...i like to keep it between 5.5 and 5.8

its normally the hydroton dude ..i got a 18 pod drip system what i do is change nutes and adjust ph to 5.5-5.6 even tho its should be on about 5.8(stir well). it doesnt hurt the plants at all but it does add as a buffer to the rising ph level. a week later i check and adjust it .... just by chance when was the last time you washed your clay?

Also if you put some air stones in with the water you are making this seems to help. I also make my water 5 to 7 days before i am gonna use it. I still get some swing like .3 to .6. But nothing like a full point every 5 to 6 hours for 3 to 5 days in row like it used too.

I see this question a lot and it always seems to me that the people having the issue are using R/O water and Expanded Clay.

rockwool and tap what a compo...NOT! rockwool is crap anyway in my humble opinion...but thread starter it is your hydrotton it will raise ph always untill it is balanced to the ph you want it
