I guerilla garden all the time. Evrytime I hike, I have seeds in my pocket.
I usually have marigold, okra, and sunflower seeds in my pocket.

I remember once I can upon a trail, that I hadn't used in a while. A few minutes down the trail, I came upon this giant Okra tree. I chuckled to myself. It looked so out of place!
Hey doing my part to re-green the earth.

me too!

hey, anyone have a couple hundred ducksfoot seeds? hehe

On a serious note, I have done this before, only to have the work cut down by tractors with mowing attachments :-(

I always plant my males down at the greenbelt, just off the bike path.

They seem to disappear within a few days.

I smile.

Guerilla gardening is a great initiative, people taking care for their environment en being commited and connected to it is something we shoud all encourage.
The best thing about it is it's fun too.

sorry to spoil your fun, but depending on where you live i bet it's likelier some animal consumed it than someone taking it.....

Never seen a small animal dig them up roots and all and leave the same hole I dug, . - Cept the 2 legged type. And I'm not trying to hide em when I set them out, it's hard for me to kill even the males -

are you trying to pollenate my plants man?!?!

:fsu:

speaking of which, they do estimates of weed crops in weed producing areas by measuring the amount of pollen in the air... well, at least in italy they do, for the moroccan hash crop...

edit: i THINk...

GEt MO - a good nasty thorny bush is Rose regosa - very thick strong flowering thorn bush. Also quite invasive. I'd plant this nasty around a future patch a few years in advance....when it's ready it's a VERY Strong discouragement to further progress along a path lol.

Peace,

thing is... if they get your patch, on the off chance they think of it, if they discover a pattern in the thorn bushes, hence, they discover it's man-made, htey WILL try and tack on an intent to do bodily harm....

same goes for fishooks, knifes, boobytraps, ANYTHING that is a deterrent meant to cause physical injury... Kinda makes you think twice about that barbed wire you were gonna use to keep the "deer" away, eh?

Man, when I clicked this thread my first though was how is it even possible to guerilla farm cannabis in LA. But reading the link, this is much bigger. That's the coolest idea, for people to care about public land.

OK gang - now we gotta think a little bit also - no introducing non-native species to virgin territory (cannabis excepted LOL) - not picking on hunt4, but save the non native seeds for in town stuff and keep the wild grows a'natural.
