What are people yielding in PCs/what's better?

I've been looking into starting a micro grow and the pc case idea really appeals to me but I'm wondering what people are typically pulling with these systems?

And I'm also wondering if anybody has any recommendations versus PC cases for a micro setup.

I'm also debating CFL/CMH/HPS.

The space ideally would be 2sq ft or so max, and pull 2-3 oz's.

Opinions? TIA!

I plan on running a 100 watt CMH as you can run them full cycle. produces less heat them HPS and more intense then CFL

I have seen people pull 1.5-2OZ from a PC. but you have to be VERY good to do that.

i'd personally like to see someone try a few seeds straight to 12/12, dwc/coco, cmh/hps/ or cfl.

i think this method could produce the most bud if the right strain is used. but if no one tries it i will be doing so on my next run

I'm also curious what people are doing for a slightly larger grow than a PC. I am looking to make something about the same size phattybudz. I was thinking maybe a rubbermaid tub with CFLs but just curious if anyone has any other ideas. I'd like to make it all stealth too.

hit up the home depot and buy some wood and build a cabinet, or buy a premade one. just a thought

If you're looking for something fairly inconspicuous you can always visit a local goodwill or salvage type place. I often see cabinets and wardrobes that would work perfectly, with little to no effort in the construction aspects. If you're a little more handy and equiped you can certainly take the advice of the above poster and build your own for cheap and relatively easy. Plus you can design it any way you want and not have to conform to a pre-existing space.

You can buy a 24 inch server case online for about 35$ bucks. I've read people averaging a little over an ounce.

The best micro-grows i have seen, both in person and online, involve a fair amount of training the plant.....

Now we can talk about PC cases and how to optimize that environment.....realistically i think you would need 2 or 3 PC cases running simultaneously to really get somewhere significant, and to provide constant yield......

First i think it would be wise to identify your goals, and then we will custom-design a system to achieve them......here at guineapig technologies, 100% satisfaction is our goal.... oOooo

it is not improbable to yield over an ounce in a pc. the right strain right setup right care and enviro it is possible. i guarantee MicroRU could do it look at his yields in an even smaller space

now im not saying to hope for it first run but with practice and heavy training techniques it is a reasonable goal imo

with a 125w cfl (blue not the better red one - availability issue) i was able to get about .75 oz bud with 4 tiny plants after about 45 days

what i learned was that you need to start 12/12ing a couple days (not a week) after transplanting rooted cuttings also you want to trim the plant a fair amount when it starts to compete with others and dont be afraid to pack them in together. the lower bud sites on the plants will get minimal light since youre using low intensity in a micro grow, so you really want to focus on making "sticks" of bud instead of plants with buds on them

nice, i love the look of t5's

the yield is very much dependent on genetics and how long you're vegetating the plants out. The more internodes exposed to light, the more potential budsites youll have raising your yield

your lighting seems sufficient

more red will encourage a larger yield, but the blues are still important

further into flowering you may want to change to just one or two blues

plant density looks very good

depending on your growroom height, you may want to start flowering soon (as soon as all the plants have preflowers) unless they were all grown from clones, in which case Id haveto say start now

with lots of lst you could get an oz. but with a small cab you would get more because you would let it grow bigger under a scrog/massive lst. will be able to use more than 1 plant in it more easily also.
70w hps can pull 2oz after being scrogged in a cab, but in a pc it may not be that easy to get that much.
