Well it might sound like snoop dogg. But Mac Dre has been dead for 3 years now and snoop is still trying to duplicate Dre's sound. That is why snoop has recruited Thizz label mate Mistah fab.I will give the east their props on being originators of hip hop but I still do not believe they mastered it. I really dont think an artist can express the best music that they believe in when you have billions of dollars behind you telling you to conform to the mainstream. My belief is that New York rap plays in L.A. right along with L.A. rap on the radio but the New york media refuses to push any music outside of their circle. Alot of your best rappers arent tied up into million dollar contracts, like Mac Dre who owned his own record label and was able to keep that street edge that the music needs. He believed that when your hot your hot, drop as many albums as you can for as long as the people want to hear it. On a major label you might only hear 1 album every 2 years and that makes it hard to stay up with styles and trends. People want to hear shit that is relevant right now not last years shit!You might keep an ear out for some bay area rap because if things stay the same you will be hearing the same thing out of the mouth of a new york rapper.....6months later
