I got the idea for Polluted Koolaid after I had aqcuired Big bud seeds from Homegrown Fantaseeds. I grew the big bud seeds and was impressed by how they smelled and tasted like koolaid. The yeild was terrific, but as any heavy smoker would tell you... big bud is not very potent. I decided I wanted to improve the quality of the Big bud smoke by crossing it with something more potent. I was growing a male big bud from seed at the same time that I grew from seed a feminized blueberry cough plant. the big bud pollinted the feminzed blueberry cough plant and gave me the seeds that I have since grown and come to call the Polluted koolaid. I grew three seeds and was amazed at the quality of the bud from all three (all three turned out female).
The genetics are still unstable. Blueberry cough was an accident. I grew a blueberrry crop along with several skunk/haze seeds. one of the skunk haze females hermaphed and pollinated a few blueberry nugz. the bud that blueberry cough produced was the fruitiest skunkiest mind blow that i have ever been blessed to grow. The name blueberrry cough came when a friend of mine smoked some of it and coughed very hard...he said his whole mouth and throat tasted like blueberries...thus the name blueberry cough. Blueberry cough did give off some hermi flowers as would be expected, but when I grew the plant that the male big bud pollinated, I was careful to pull off every hermi flower (the few that showed) before they opened. Plus I had a terrible light leaking problem during that flowering period...the problem has since been resolved. the yeild on the blueberry cough wasn't anything amazing...a very modest yeild, and lengthy flower time. Big bud was an improvement on both ends of that spectrum, as Polluted koolaid yeilds very exceptionally. I currently have all three strains growing: here are pics to show the genetic evolution:
Blueberry cough (feminized) - was the mother strain
Big Bud (F2 Generation) - was the father strain
Polluted Koolaid - the offspring
